I'm sure just about everyone on this forum will say Mercedes. But then, if you posted the same pics and question in the BMW 5 forum, I'm quite sure the answers would favor the BMW.

I agree that you will, most likely, see a partisan reply.
If I put everything to one side, I would probably say:
Front end - Beemer
Back end - Merc
Interior - Merc
Drive - Beemer
Question, "would I part with my C class for a BMW?" - overall, probably not . I love this car (warts and all).

Apples to oranges, man.
5 series compares to the E class, not the C. I would compare the 3 series to the C class.
Having driven both cars (F10 and W205), I'd take the bimmer any day of the week. But if you were to pit F10 to the W212, I'd have some hesitation...will have to seriously think about it, as both are really great cars, with pro's and con's.

I'm a Benz fanatic but comparing the C class to a 5 series just ain't right. The W205 is nice but it ain't a competitor to the 5. An E550 would do the trick
Also, the 5 series has properly matched black trim, wheels and grill - that C is a bit half-done in that dept.

I am a BMW owner, and fan. Having said that, from looks alone, I'd choose C450. I am not too big on the 5 series sedan looks. I see many folks stating that this isn't a good comparison since its a C vs 5er. Not certain, but, this is on a parking lot....at random. It isnt as if OP borrowed the two cars for a comparison. And who says one cant compare cars from diff classes. It doesnt always have to be apples to apples. Thats what makes this compo so great!
