What about the Comand Unit for C-Class? I found a second hand unit from a salvage V-Class with resonable price but don't know if it possible to retrofit it.

I went to three different dealers to upgrade from 20 to comand and got the same answer (can't be done) they told me the car is wired from the factory and cannot be revised. The Woodlands, Greenway and Sugarland dealers.

MBWorld Fanatic!
I have retrofitted at least 10 Garmin systems, it is an easy install, takes about two hours.
You need a new 12V feed cable for the new USB/SD unit, routed from the passenger footwell, a GPS antenna mounts behind the instrument cluster, a longer GPS antenna Cable and the USB/SD slot unit.
Coding of the HU and IC and inserting a Garmin map SD.

After watching these, I start to think about getting MB Star C4 diagnostic unit to start to learn it by myself.

If you have some basic skills there shouldnt be any problems, the hardest part is the first step wich is removing the centre console alu trim with the armrest opening button.
Once that is removed it is just a matter of loosening screws and unclipping some panels.
Remove passenger side door sill and carpet lining
Remove centre console
Remove armrest
Loosen the HU
Remove cover around steering wheel below instrument cluster
Remove instrument cluster.
Fit antenna behind instrument cluster, fit extra GPS Cable to antenna (90deg bend), remove Purple housing in other end of Cable, route Cable to HU and insertin free slot of blue connector,
insert the feed wire into the pink connector slot 5 in the lower passenger A-pillar, insert other end into SD-Card reader black connector, next to brown ground wire (cant remember slot number)
Code instrument cluster and HU, insert SD card.

522 AUDIO 20 RADIO NAVIGATION CAPABLE NTG5
270 GPS ANTENNA
BUT NOT with:
355 PREINSTALLATION FOR NAVIGATION RETROFITTING
357 SD CARD NAVIGATION
So I do not need to install GPS antenna. Just the SD card slot and 12 V feed cable?
Questions:
- What are the part numbers required (presumably a2058204800 is coming with GPS antenna and I would not need it)?
- Any advice on installation (photos / videos) as the instructions vic viper gave are including gps -antenna?
- Is the 12 V feed cable for the GPS antenna as the SD card slot is just data transfer?
The SD card I've thought to order from satnavstore.com.
Also does anyone know what extra does it require to have also Apple Car Play or is it even possible as the existing system is NTG5..
Thank you and appreciated!

- Remove black multiple fuse holder
- Remove blue 6-pin connector from fuse holder (marked MF2)
- Put 12V wire in contact cavity 5 of blue 6-pin connector.
- Install blue connector back to fuse holder etc. reverse to removal
- The other end of supply voltage goes naturally to SD card reader. Route wire carefully under the passenger side ventilation duct etc. Use tape and felt tape to secure it and avoid damage due possible sharp edges
- On the SD card side:
- Remove black 8-pin connector housing from blue supporting body.
--Install contact spring of 12 V wire in contact cavity 5 of black 8 pin connector housing and install into blue supporting body. This should be now ready to be plugged to SD card reader.
Note. Remember to disconnect ground line of battery..

- Fuse box is located in A-pillar bottom part on passenger side. To access this remove the plastic part
- Remove black multiple fuse holder from fuse box
- Remove blue 6-pin connector from above mentioned fuse holder (marked MF2 if I recall correctly)
- Install contact spring of 12V wire (this is wire harness you should buy) in contact cavity 5 of blue 6-pin connector
- Install blue connector back to black multiple fuse holder and install them back to the A-pillar. Do this carefully in order to make sure that all fuses are sitting correctly in their places
- Route the 12V wire in passenger footwell ( I removed the plastic duct for better routing) to SD -card reader in center console
- Remove black 8 pin connector housing from blue supporting body
- Install contact spring of 12V wire in contact cavity 5 of black 8 pin connector housing
- Install black 8-pin connector into blue supporting body
SD card should be powered when you put the ground cable back to the battery.

or is there another wiring option that would make this work. I really appreciate any assistance.

I've MB C-Class (W205) registered 11/2014 with the options:
