I notice on the passenger window which they just replaced to be acoustic glass, the view is distorted. This is hard to describe but it gives a "wavy" image like looking through very old glass from back in the days.

I've googled the phenomenon and it might be called roll or roller wave distortion.

Anoyone else noticed this?

The driver window is perfectly normal.

Yes, it was. The map update was not an in stock item, and did have to be ordered by the dealer.

I was at the dealer for the B service this morning. They confirmed that map version 7 is available, but can't be done on a Saturday. I'll get it done next time.

Thanks for your replies!

I wonder if it's wort the time and all that to inform the dealer about the "bad window" or if I should just be happy that I got acoustic glass?

A quick update.

I have acoustic windows, new rubber (velvet type) strips and...nothing has changed. The wind noise is still there. :/ God bless whoever assembled my car.

With my acoustic windows, wind noise was reduced to a 98%, difference like day and night and creaking from the driver side window was gone. (with the standard window if you push a little bit from the inside will make creaking noises)

Now I can clearly hear the squeaks from the screen, Rear-view mirror, center console, Non flats noise, etc... Basically anything from the interior, if you press it hard enough will make a noise, including the Rear-view mirror.

for those of your with the acoustic glass either original or replaced under warranty, was it front and rear or just front? My front windows show the X1 symbol but the rears do not and that is where all the noise seems to be coming from.. it sounds like the rear doors are open half the time.

The bulletin applies only for front windows, I'm pretty convinced is a design flaw of the mirrors or some issue with the front doors. No idea there was noise in the rear. Ask someone to drive your car and you can go in the back sear to identify where the noise is coming from just to make sure is wind noise or tire noise.

They only replaced the two front windows for me but someone on top of that also got extra or new insulation in the backdoors.

Can I just ask those who had the Glass replaced - Were the doors completely stripped out for the glass replacement and then re-assembled? I only got my car delivered 2 days ago, and am concerned such work can create other issues like rattling, creaking, etc..

I had my front windows replaced 10 days ago and I do not believe they stripped out the front doors. The service manager explained they just did what was contained in the Mercedes TSB, that is to check the seals around the front windows, doors, wing mirrors etc, then refit them with some padding underneath, then to fit new acoustic windows to the front. The rear windows are not covered by the service bulletin.
Overall result was I would say a 90 to 95% improvement. The car is now acceptably quiet up to about 80mph, but you do notice the wind noise on gusty days.
I have no rattles or creaks.

They'll have to remove the interior panels. My glass was replaced with no problems. I've also had the exterior door handle LEDs replace on 2 doors. The LED replacement also involved removing the interior door panels. I haven't noticed any creaks or rattles. It probably depends on the experience of the service tech.

Today I reconfirmed that I'm still getting wind noise after the acoustic glass replacement. I though so a few weeks but today on the freeway at 110Km/h I could hear it again.

My dealer is replacing the LEDs in the door handles this week so am going to get them to take another look.

Really getting over how many times it's been to the shop.

My car is in for a service and I will have a loaner car for a few days. I mostly use it to commute to work.

What a difference there can be! There is absolutely NO WIND NOISE! It's dead quiet!

The fact that the loaner car is a 2003 c class (w203) makes be dissapointed, that my car is still very noisy even after getting the acoustic glass.

Now *that* is annoying! To think that MB know that there's a manufacturing issue, and this clearly is, yet chose not to address it in the latest model (MY17) is just unacceptable.

My car went in today, and when I asked the service advisor if it's the first time they heard about the wind-noise issue, his response was "only once or twice but not frequently". I wonder what the assessment and remedial actions would be. In my case, unless I'm 110% satisfied it is rectified, the car goes back to MB as a reject.

Was in my dealer today. I said there was a bulletin issued recently for a fix. He said he would check. When I picked up the car they had fixed the LEDs and said he ordered the 'entire felt kit' and it should be ready for installation on Monday.

He "guaranteed" it would fix the alignment of the windows and will cease the noise and creaking.

What is the felt kit? Is there another bulletin for those parts? In my car only the windows and the sealing strips were replaced.

So the glass was replaced today on my week-old c250d. Did it solve the wind noise issue? NO! Only a very marginal difference with the acoustic glass on the front doors.

I'm extremely disappointed, especially after the service rep said "we've done what we were told from MB Germany. The car is 100% fixed."

Not sure what to do next...
