Depends what headlights you have, ILS, partial LED or halogens?

You can only replace the dipped beam bulb on the halogen headlights.

To make changes like this, even when you are aware it looks crap/rice/like something a 19 year old would do... You also need the ability to change bulbs, which, when there are no traditional bulbs in LED setups, means you'd have to really know what you are doing to take apart the entire lamp housing and replace LEDs. Specialist stuff.

Listen to what Vic is telling you - you CANNOT do that change on your car - it does not use bulbs.

Yes it may look cool/ok but the effort needed to do this far exceeds the outcome. Here is the post to the picture you have - https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...-retrofit.html

Come on now, guys. We are obviously too old to understand the level of coolness involved with demon eye headlights fitted to a Mercedes Benz in the year 2015. Let's try and give him some actual advice to help him out, ok?

Brosef (MACDD), I think you can paint over the individual LED's with red paint. There's a how-to somewhere on this forum I'm sure of it. Just search through every single thread here and you should be able to find it.

If I find a DYI for this, I'll be sure to let you know!!! I was just pointing out that visibly will be greatly reduced and you might not like it because it'll be difficult to drive at night.

However, if you're fine with that, then by all means, go for it!

This was actually what i was trying to say but i was purposefully being an ***.

These forums have tons of DIY stuff that you can use to incorporate for your own project

Based on what I see, the effect that MACDD wants to achieve is only possible with projector style headlamps where the lamp has a ball shaped lens. Essentially, some colored LEDs are placed next to the lens and when turned on shines colored light into the lens, making it appear to glow. This does not change the color of the headlight themselves, so the headlights remain fully functional.

I have not taken a close look at the headlights on the W205, but the low beam at least does appear to have a lens. So I imagine if you drilled into it from the underside, mounted a red LED, it could be made to glow without compromising the real headlight.

Not that I would do it, though, but it's possible I guess. You'll have to crack the light open, drill, and do some wiring. This is not for the faint of heart. as just one light assembly is almost a grand.
