I wonder if I could have a copy of the email reply, from Mercedes UK, as I spoke to them on the UK freephone phone and they informed me to speak to the dealer. As the rep didn't have that information.
Or the email address you used to send your request.
Thanking you

I emailed MB USA and received this response. It doesn't seem correct to me.... 6.1 is my current maps version and is fairly outdated at this point. Thoughts?

Reason: Detail
After receiving the same email, I took my 2017 E300 to the dealer this morning (I scheduled the appointment last Friday). After waiting 1 1/2 hours, I was told that my navigation system is using the latest update and nothing is currently available for it. I don’t understand why MB sent me the email.
Note: my navigation uses V2.0
Has anybody else with a 2017 had a similar experience?
I wonder if different models have different map versions? Mine is a 2016 C300 on maps version 6.1.... have seen GLC nav versions on 8.0 though. I don't understand why MB is saying I have the latest version when it seems I don't when compared to many others. Weird.
Took my car to dealer today. The map data was updated from V6.0 2015/2016 to V7.0 2016. I’m surprised the maps version doesn’t read 2017.
The daytime map seems to be darker.
My 2016 came with V6.1 and I had to take to 2 different dealers to finally get V7.0. I know V10.0 is the newest update and I might have to take it back 4-5 times to get there. It seems Mercedes dealers are poorly trained or unaware.
I didn't know the Garmin nav had free updates.. Doesn't much matter to me though, I still primarily use Google or Apple maps on my iPhone. More reliable and better traffic routing - ESPECIALLY with the new version of Google Maps. That being said, I usually leave the NAV screen on so I can quickly see the speed limit
Try Waze... Speed limits with customizable speed warnings (and more)

The update from version 7.0 hasn't been released yet. New cars are shipped with version 10, but you can't update yet. My dealer expects the update to be available soon.

Actually my 2015 C300 was updated to the 2017/2018 V10.0 version about 3-4 days ago after creating a fuss with the dealer from refusing to do the update numerous times.

Excellent. It must have just become available. I'll contact the dealer tomorrow. They have been great about doing the other two updates I've had done. This will be my third and last free update.
After waiting for Customer Services via email to get back to me, still nothing.
So phoned CS (UK) and spoke to one of there representatives. Well that got me nowhere, informed me that it was a technical matter and they didn't access to that information.
Did ask, "If I knew who my local Mercedes garage was, and to contact them, as they would have the answer."
Puts you off, asking them for anything. Oh well the joys of owning a Mercedes.
Well they say "All good things come to those who wait."
Got an email reply this morning from Customer Services (UK), about the Comand Update UK version, for my vehicle.
Thank you for contacting Mercedes-Benz Customer Service.
We have consulted with our Technical Department who have advised that latest version for your COMAND system is Version 11 2017/18. I will use this to inform the garage that needs updating.
1. COMAND updates are "free" for 3-years from original service date - not to exceed 1 update in a 6 month period - IF a fresh update has been sent by MB to the dealer.
YES - factory does implement new versions sooner - meaning it takes time for Mercedes to rollout fresh updates/USB-sticks etc to the dealer.
In effect there has been average one effective update each year.
The MB dealers now - recently received - tentative update/version schedule thru the end of the year.
Where are you saying this from - USA? I am just wondering if the same is true in Canada.
