Map Update
I found this:
*Estimated release for first update of the program is November 2015. Map update timing will vary according to when the vehicle is purchased and when the map data is loaded. MBUSA will reach out to Multi-Year Update Program customers when a map update is available for their vehicle.

Anybody have this update yet?

That is for command equipped cars. Since the title is generalized I will add the Garmin information;
All you have to do is download the app from MB site (below) and have an authentic SD, it automatically updates the maps (FREE).

I just updated my SD card. It was fairly painless. The install hung up for a while and I just closed and reopened the app and it finished fine. I'll let you guys know if I see a difference. The garmin system is laughable. It doesn't calculate routes properly, it's slow as all hell and the maps aren't even correct which is contrary to every other garmin product i've ever owned. I've had 2 separate garmin stand alone units, garmin mobile PC which I used to run in a computer in my last car and the iOS and android apps. All worked flawless but this POS in my mercedes is a disgrace.

It does tell you traffic information at least mine does and I did not pay anything. but nav system in cars is sorta useless in my opinion. I use waze for cops and traffic, I would be happy to use the screen only (mirroring).

Yep, not the greatest, but it's nice to have instead of looking at album covers.

When in Navigation Mode:
Go to -> Options (Bottom left corner)
Go to -> Map Content
Go to -> Map Version

I didn't know the Garmin nav had free updates.. Doesn't much matter to me though, I still primarily use Google or Apple maps on my iPhone. More reliable and better traffic routing - ESPECIALLY with the new version of Google Maps. That being said, I usually leave the NAV screen on so I can quickly see the speed limit

I had a 2016 E Class for my loaner and noticed it was also on v4.0.

Can you post a copy of the work order that includes the map update. My car is at the dealer now for another issue and they're telling me there are no updates. I'd love to have a copy of your work order to educate them.

My dealer confirmed that there is an update for my September 2014 build C400. They were ready to install it. They have the update on a USB, but need a license key from Daimler and the website was down. Since they couldn't retrieve the license key, they couldn't do the update today. My current version is 3.3, the update is version 5.1.
Interestingly, at first they were not aware there was an update. When they confirmed an update was available, they quoted $405 plus tax. I pointed out that 3 years of updates were included with the car purchase. They did some checking and found out that was true. Apparently, I was the first customer to ask for the free map update. They were very apologetic and offered to do it anytime I stopped in next week, although it takes a couple of hours to complete.

Mine is an amg. Unless the update does things other than the maps, like the car specific graphics or other comand features, I don't see why 6 is not available for upgrade.

I'm hoping since we're all discussing map updates its ok to ask a question regarding software versions for the map pilot as well as anyone feedback on Ebay purchasing. It appears there are a lot of W205 C300 Garmin Map Pilot SD cards on Ebay, some are from dealers some from private parties. and the prices do vary quite a bit. Seeing that there is quite a variance in prices, I decided to look at the actual part numbers on some of the SD cards and there seems to be a couple of different cards. It "appears" there is a card that is for a 2015/2016 map and one for a 2015 map, as well as some 2014 maps. the part numbers seem to be just one number off at the end.... with the 2015/2016 maps having slightly higher numbers. My question is. If all of the SD cards are compatible with a 2016 C300 with the 355 option, then is there any reason to purchase a higher part numbered version for more money- like the 2015/2016 or just get the 2015? Especially since they can just be updated. Also, anyone have any issues with Ebay purchases from other than the dealers on there? sorry if I interrupted the thread, but this seemed to be the closest to the topic I wanted to get feedback on... rather than start a new thread. I also hope my questions are clear to everyone, thanks,

My 2015 C300 must be eligible since my cars current NAV version is:
"2014/2015 (V4.0) N.America"
I'll ask for the new map version when I take it in for it's first "A" service...or if something else goes wrong earlier.

Just had my Service A, and was told an update won't be out until June 2016 (my build date is Jan 2015).
