Yeah, except I think you can change the main computer display between MPH and KPH if you want, so there is always a way to get it. Since you can turn off that little extra, don't know why they also wouldn't have allowed you to switch between measurement systems, since displaying in kph is no less helpful in the US than having it off altogether...

My windows freeze shut even when it isn't that cold out (-7 Celsius yesterday). Freezing seems to be at the top of the windows because of that extra rubber stuff added. Not a lot of fun to open my door to flash my parking fob at the office...

very true, and to that I would say that if i drove in to canada, I would want to see the kph to obey limits and i would also want to see MPH so i would know how fast i was really going since I can relate to MPH.

I say this because my friend from canada does this but the opposite when he drives down in to the states

Exactly. i definitely want the option to see it, but would be nice to use the main computer display for navigation but have the digital kph readout in the top right corner. No reason in the world for Mercedes to hard wire it so I can only see mph.

Something so stupid: every time I plug my android phone to charge it the car tries to launch music from the phone (even when I am already listening to music from another usb source). I haven't found a way to disable this, any idea ? Thanks.

You can't disable it, but there are two ports in the center console - one is the USB integration port and the other is just a charging port. Use the latter and you should have no issue.

Something else that bugs me even though it isn't a big deal is the windshield pitch and the wiper blade length causes all of the water from the right side blade to drip down the middle of the windshield. Looks ugly, particularly when it is an antifreeze/ice mix and kind of harshes the vibe. Plus no matter how many times you try to clean the residual with an extra wipe it seems to come back until it dries as an ugly white dribble.

first world problems.

1. stop start - not smooth enough, shudders on restart, really annoying in traffic, a ***** to have to turn it off every time

2. screen wiper speed - not fast enough at the fastest setting - driving half blind through a downpour that has never happened on my bmw

3. sat nav - i have the standard audio20 and google maps are 100% better. After having to turn around 2x due to sat nav lack of road knowledge or mapping software I actually had to set up a phone mount so i can use my iphone for navigation. Surely MB could do better than that....

4. Black piano trim... who's dumb idea was that?! seriously. I have scratches on it from touching it with my fingers - the stuff is so soft you can probably scratch it by breathing on it... and fingerprints and scratches are very noticeable on it

5. off-centre steering wheel... why?! i keep finding myself shifting to the side subconsciously all the time!

6. Proximity warnings - i'm still getting used to the alarm going off all of a sudden when I'm less than 25cm from object. On previous car it was a gradual increase in frequency and intensity of beeps, on the C its all or nothing. Also goes off randomly when I use swipe card for access car parks.

I do still love it however - but it certainly has more "character" than some other less than reputable european brands

I don't "hate" anything about the car but there are a few things I would change:

1. Parking Sensors - audio should be the primary warning with increasing speed of the "beeps" as you near an obstacle. Not a lone beep when contact is imminent. Their viewing angle also needs to be adjusted. Currently they see curbs but as you near them they started looking over the top of the curb and warnings stop. A disaster waiting to happen as low as the front of this car is. Volvo implementation of this feature is perfect in my estimation.

2. Key fobs should be linked to seat/mirror position. In my old 2006 Acura, when I unlocked the door, the car recognized key1 or 2 and moved the seat/mirrors automatically. System should work like that.

3. I've gotten used to it but I would prefer the gear shift be moved off the steering column and back to the center console.

if your steering wheel is really not straight and your on a perfectly level service, not tilted or slanted then I would take it back and have the alignment adjusted.

My system actually works as you describe, increasing lights then slightly increasing warnings.. until it goes RED and solid beeps/tone.

I DO have an example when say leaving a parking garage and the sensors pick up the outside corner post - suddenly upon departure and then they go solid read and solid tone - even though there really is no threat. That is to be expected.

I don't "hate" it. But I'm not crazy about the flat bottom steering wheel. It just doesn't feel ergonomically correct. Took a little getting use to.

I commented about this (in another thread, I think). You and me may be the only two on the planet, who thinks ergonomically speaking the flat bottom steering wheel is odd. Don't get me wrong. I do like how it looks, but it just strikes me as odd every time I have turn the wheel fully. It's a function over form thing. It's great looking, but it isn't really helpful for anything other than it signifies you got the Sport Package. If I could have gotten the Sport Package without the flat bottom wheel, in retrospect, I probably would have.

The windows in my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee never froze up. I'm beginning to think the W205 just isn't a good "Cold Weather" vehicle, if it were it would have options like heated headlight sprayers & heated rear seats like a BMW.

Heated headlight sprayers, mirrors etc are all available. Must be an MBUSA decision not to offer.

I had a recent day where it slowly unfroze itself while holding the down button. It seems to be freezing at the top where it has that little rubber overhang thing, rather than at the bottom, which is where windows usually freeze when it gets super cold. Also when temp stays below zero and it doesn't get rain the windows don't seem to freeze again overnight, so probably really is an issue of moisture freezing the window to that rubber thing.

And add to the list the heated steering wheel, which is basically standard in a whole bunch of cars now but not even available in the 450.

Having said that, maybe because I have the 450, but it heats up much better and the interior heat is much more comfortable than my old 328, which took forever to start pumping hot air and the air was really harsh and dry.

Not available in Canada.

Cause obviously it never drops below freezing in Canada...

Increasing lights yes (of course not in my normal driving field of view) but the first tone comes on at the first red bar (no tones for yellow bars) on mine which is imminent contact in my experience.

Completely agree on #2. The speed is way to slow to cope with even moderate rain on the highway... I always find myself trying to turn them higher. I don't understand why...on my previous CLKs they were much faster.

Rofl he's talking about the fact the steering wheel is offset ie not perfectly in front of you. Not its rotation.

I had a 2014 Mercedes Benz CLA 250 4 Matic, Now have 2015 Mercedes C300 4Matic
I have a 2015 W205 C300. Overall its a great car but somethings I just can't stand. First, the standard audio system. I know someone will comment saying "why didn't you get the Burmester. I got this car because they only had this car on the lot, if i waited to build one my previous car would depreciate more. Second I hate the exhaust note. The car only sounds good when I upshift on sport mode. Lastly, the transmission on this car sucks. Shifting speeds are very slow. Sometimes when I downshift a few gears down, it doesn't go to the gear i want it too.
