2017 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Convertible Coupe Looks Good in Spy Gear
This 2017 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Convertible prototype was recently spied doing some cold-weather testing with the top down, giving us a pretty solid view of the goods.

2022 E450 Cabriolet
This is what I'm waiting for, to replace my W204 . I'm hoping there will be a 450AMG 4matic version . I'm glad its a soft top for the following reasons :
- Looks smoother and more classic
- Lighter weight for better performance
- Much more usable trunk space when top down
Experience with previous Mercedes soft tops from others, shows that they are almost as quiet and weather resistant as hardtops - even in Ontario winters !

Oh God, I'll buy this in a flash, I love Mercedes Cabrio's. I'v been waiting for years now, for the the newer shape in E350, it never happened, and now you hear a C-cabrio. Cloth tops actually are more fun ... I dont like hardtop. I owned a CLK350. The cloth is unbelievably resilient. I loved taking care of it, it looked brand-new after 5-6 years of real heavy use.

well, I personally like to push the envelope, in a lot of things I do (I owned a disruptive technology firm). So yea, one can argue that it has a chick-car vibe, a C300 in general has it, a red has a little more, a cabrio even more. Though I do think the phrase is getting out of fashion, the more technology is pushing various frontiers further and further ... at least thats my way of thinking, and others are well entitled to their own

The manufacturer does want you to either fully close it or fully open it. There are those annoying bells and whistles (even more so than safety belts) that spring up to remind you just that in a CLK. But I do have on occasion driven with a partially closed top.

Didn't even spot it until you mentioned it! I guess it would take away the need for the wind deflector interior part??
I'm 50/50 on it, I guess I would have to see how different the C-class and E-class are once it's released. Someone already mentioned how "chick-ish" it could be, but I don't want to pass judgement til I see it in person.

That's not a spoiler per se, it's the AIRCAP panel. Works in conjunction with the rear wind deflector to greatly reduce wind draft levels and turbulence in the cabin with the top down. It's on the E and S convertibles too (it works quite well in the E cabrio actually).

2022 E450 Cabriolet
My two concerns with this convertible are :
- Will it be available in 450AMG 4MATIC (for winter use )
- How will rear legroom compare to E Cabrio and the CLK . I can sit behind myself in the E ( I'm 5-11) .
True 101 , How is CLK for legroom?
This new C has a longer wheelbase than both these cars , so should be at least as spacious ?

- Rear legroom will be decent but nothing to shout about. I sat in the back of the new coupe (of which I'm getting the 63s version) and it's not somewhere I'd like to be for medium/long periods of time ( I'm 6-1).

Thanks Trim105 , hopefully the cabrio won't be tighter than the coupe. I only need to carry people under 6 feet tall for short trips so should be OK . Now i'm getting excited !

No problem well if it's short people and short journeys shouldn't be an issue, I'd expect the legroom to be the same but rear headroom might be slightly better because it won't have the coupe's sloping roof line.

While all convertibles are terrible for rear-passengers, CLK had the most functional rear-seats in that day - 2009'sh. The same with the E-cabrio of today. For short-trips these rear-seats are really just fine.

There's no less than 13 variants of the W205 Cabriolet listed in the latest MB workshop system. The C400 4MATIC as well as the 450 AMG is in there and so is two variants for C63 version. Not sure how all that translates into production, plus I doubt they'll distribute to all world markets but you'd think North America would be in the lot to receive all the popular high powered variants.
