Proof for free map updates?
For some reason my dealer is telling me my 2015 C300 w/ multimedia package is not eligible for free map updates. My understanding what that this came with 3 years of free maps, at least in the US. Is there some link / documentation that I can show him to clarify for him?

This site seems pretty clear, but unfortunately it's not an official MB site. It's from the map vendor. Would be best if there is something official from MB.

Correct, I have Comand.
I think MB has done a poor job of educating their dealers on the new map process. Last summer my service advisor kept insisting that the car still required a DVD to update the maps and that I could order 1 free set of DVDs per year. Now the dealer wants to charge over $300 and insists I'm not eligible. For a new standard feature with Comand, it's surprising how much confusion there still is on this.

My dealer says there is but that I'm not eligible for a free upgrade. My guess is they are just looking at the wrong thing and there is no update available yet.

I also found this: "The system may be either functionally impaired or temporarily unavailable if the information in the digital street map of the navigation system is incorrect or out of date."
If you don't have a HUD, it displays them in the center screen (between the gauges) and calls them 'Assistance Graphics'.

Is it actually a "nominal fee" for the update effort OR is there a software license involved here?
Map subscription/updates are/should be similar to the traffic info.
Main/big dealerships would just do it as part of the yearly service - providing you ask nicely of course!

My dealer confirmed that there is an update for my September 2014 build C400. They were ready to install it. They have the update on a USB, but need a license key from Daimler and the website was down. Since they couldn't retrieve the license key, they couldn't do the update today. My current version is 3.3, the update is version 5.1.
Interestingly, at first they were not aware there was an update. When they confirmed an update was available, they quoted $405 plus tax. I pointed out that 3 years of updates were included with the car purchase. They did some checking and found out that was true. Apparently, I was the first customer to ask for the free map update. They were very apologetic and offered to do it anytime I stopped in next week, although it takes a couple of hours to complete.

Reading up on 'Traffic Sign Assist' and it states: "If you select a display with traffic signs, detected traffic signs from Traffic Sign Assist appear in the head-up display."
