Holding off for the 2016-17 C-300 coupe...
I'm in the throes of debate between a BMW 228 and the soon to be released new 2016-17 C-300 coupe. I could have gotten a good deal (with a Z4 trade-in) on a 228, but am holding off because I would really hate myself if I regretted buying it after I finally have a chance to see and drive the C-300 this spring. I was wondering if anyone knows how the new coupe will drive/handle compared to the present C-300 coupe. I know that this will not be a fair comparison because of the smaller engine in the older coupe (201hp vs 242hp) and maybe comparing to the sedan would be better? Nonetheless, do you think one can expect to have better road handling/feel with the new coupe vs either the sedan with the 2.0L turbo or the coupe with the smaller engine?

As far as the C205 vs 228i you'll have to drive both to see which is better. The transmission in the 228i will be the sublime ZF 8 speed which is much better than anything MB can drum up (not sure why they continue to insist on making their own transmissions) but obviously the C205 as a complete package will be much nicer. The interior is miles ahead of anything BMW is putting out aside from the new 7. And the exterior looks lovely as a mini S Coupe.
I'm also waiting to see when the C Coupe will be released (some are saying March/April in North America) as I might replace my W204 with it. The W205 loaner I had (non Sport but quite loaded) for a few weeks left a lot to be desired handling wise and power wise. Unless the incentives on the C450 are much better around March/April when my lease is up I'll likely move into the C205 over the sedan but lets see.

Was at my local MB dealer over the holidays and saw a 2016 C-Coupé. Absolutely gorgeous design - but would not consider it as more than a 2-seater due to low height in the back seats.

How it looks in person in comparison with photos? While looking pictures and videos it sometimes looks perfect, but from some angles not that good.

Also I pulled some preliminary pricing from a post by a dealer on a different website:
2017 C Coupe
C300 RWD
$42,650
Spring 2016
C300 4MATIC
$44,650
Spring 2016
I agree, sometimes it looks weird from 3/4 view with the short rear, only adding the trunk spoiler makes it look better. HOWEVER, that being said I felt the same way about the W205 C and the look has definitely grown on me. I still feel that the non-Sport/AMG Line W205 looks like a bubbly, bland mess though. I really wish they would've gave the C coupe the S Coupe hood treatment as I think it could have looked even better but it still a great looking car.
