So much hate from other drivers...

I am not bashing C owners at all, I of course am one. I love it. I will probably get a 450 in a couple years because I love them. This is obviously a group of enthusiasts (we are posting on a C-class forum after all) so no one just bought a C-class because it had the 3-pointed star on the front. We all like and enjoy this car. However, id venture to say that 90% of other c class owners are not enthusiasts such as ourselves, and buy a C-class simply because it is a mercedes. A realtor I recently used was the perfect example. Older woman over 70, not a clue probably about the car, but I asked her if she liked her C300 and she said "yes, i bought it because I like the round air vents inside of the car". THAT is the kind of person I am talking about, no one on here
In general, most generalizations are wrong.
It's all a matter of perception. Obviously we don't buy Mercedes for the status...they have the status they have because they're great cars... but to the motoring public at large, the smaller, less expensive Benz's can make you look like a poser. If Bentley suddenly came out with a $40k sedan, same issues.
Anyone else feel the same?
Interestingly with my Jaguar F-Type R people react the opposite. They pull aside and let me through, and defer to let me in when changing lanes. I am not sure if this is because they defer to a sports car (more Uberholt prestige) or if they just want to get a better look at the beauty.

In other parts of the state/country/world the C class would be one of the pricier cars on the road.
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
I will say that the S is respected and I'm always shocked when I'm I forget I'm in one of my kid's cars and nobody lets me in to traffic, or cuts me off when I try to pass or change lanes. The seas part for an S.
Most automotive manufacturers now have such a massive range-spectre. BMW 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 & 8-series. MB A, B, C, E and so forth. Not sure that classifies any of them being jokes - though naturally some are less desirable.
May you drive your (fast) Taxi in happiness

Some drivers just care about themselves and where they are going. They come first no matter what. The ones that do let you go first, yield, etc, etc. would do that for anyone; they're courteous no matter what.
As far a a C class being a joke or any entry-level model for that matter...these are the money-makers, the bread and butter for Mercedes, BMW's etc. Saying the C class, 3-Series, A4's are jokes (implies) that because they are not E, S, 5-series, A6/7's is a bit pretentious.
Respect the Road, Respect others and Happy Motoring.
on the other hand, you have young people that have high-end model cars, on welfare, they come first, their kids come second...I'm not picking on anyone here, but we've seen or read about people like this... But because they drive that S-class (not knowing the other details) they're respected?
