So much hate from other drivers...

This is my first MB, and indeed my first luxury car. Having driven Hondas etc before, I definitely notice a difference in how other drivers act towards me now. People endeavor to cut you off, not let you into traffic, honk at the smallest mistake, etc.

Anyone else feel the same?

No. I think drivers in general are simply rude. They run red lights, cut you off, hug your bumper, text and drive, talk on their handsets and drive. But I don't think it's because I drive a Mercedes.

I agree. I got dashcams now.

Though it's also because your not driving a £10K car anymore your being a bit more precious about it.

I don't believe it has anything to do with the brand of car, but rather the deteriorating skill level of drivers in general. Between cell phone use, including texting and browsing, and the distraction of on board electronics and user interfaces, I think driver attention is at an all time low. I live in a rural area, and even here it's tough to get through a single day without encountering at least some total idiots on the road. Failure to signal, following too closely, running lights, driving in the middle of the road or on the shoulders, cutting other cars off ... it's epidemic.

I used to tell my wife to always assume that 50% of the drivers on the road were incompetent. I recently upped that to 80%. It's now become the exception when a considerate driver can be found.

I'm amazed how many high end cars in my area did not come with the optional turn signals!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who has THOSE days - when you are sure your car is invisible! I've had that going on for the last 15 years around Chicago, so I think it is just as the others have said -- people are just inconsiderate. It is always "me first" regardless of what is right and wrong. Countless times have I had to rapidly brake as some moron makes a right turn on a red light into the cross traffic. Their rationale? "Well, I stopped. I just made a right turn on red after stop." They completely forgot about the clause in that law that allows right turns on red lights ". . . after cross traffic has cleared the intersection."

The ones that scare me to death are the ones you see in your rearview mirror on the expressway - and they are reading the morning paper or a book as they "drive."

I love to sneak up near the young women who are doing their makeup as they drive. I get nice and close, then lay on the horn. Fun to watch, but I doubt that they ever learn a lesson.

The C gets grief because it gives the impression (right or wrong) that you wanted a Mercedes but couldn't afford a "real" one. It's probably worse in a C or CLA then if you had no Mercedes at all and were driving an Accord that cost the same money. I had a 190E (also known as a "baby benz") and I got the same treatment.

I will say that the S is respected and I'm always shocked when I'm I forget I'm in one of my kid's cars and nobody lets me in to traffic, or cuts me off when I try to pass or change lanes. The seas part for an S.

I know, right? What's with that?

And while were on the subject, when did drivers no longer need to park in a parking space straight? Huh? Now drivers pull into a space any direction they want, including parking so close to your car you can't even get in it. Harumph.....

I think a majority of the time the C is bought by people who can't tell a difference between a 600 maybach and a C300 and they just see the 3 pointed star on the front i.e. old women

But hey, I'm 23 years old and the C was the max I could afford, so in some cases that is true.

I get lots of 'waves' and folks trying to compliment my cars.......but also there are plenty of just plain horrible drivers......proceed with caution and enjoy your new Mercedes Benz....maybe get some tint to help drown out the jealous ones......

I'd wave the BS flag on that observation.

Well, as a member of the class of old women and old men, this has been my life's experience: I started with an MG B in high school, then a Lotus Elan followed by an E type Jaguar in college, a BMW 2002 tii in law school, several airplanes, various automobiles until I bought a fast Audi in 2001, a C 300 sport when I retired and in November 2015, a C 450 just because I wanted it, so I reject your implied and express propositions as absurd.

As you are now, I once was; as I am now, you shall be.

Comment about the above statement regarding c class being what ppl can afford.
I can easily afford a S class but tbh it would just be stupid because i have absolutely no reason to own one, the new C-class 450 is perfect for me.

Looks good.
Drives really good.
Sounds good.
Luxurious inside.
Fits parking spaces i need to be in.
and for the rest of the money i can do something fun.

Says the guy who has a Gallardo in the garage as well

I would rather have these 2 cars than 1 of either.

I too can afford something more expensive. I've finally grown up enough (just turned 61 yesterday) to realize I don't have to have a super expensive car to enjoy driving. For me, my C300 Sport is all I need or really want. It's fun to drive. Has all the luxury features I could use (still wish it had Apple Play, but that's another subject) and I plan to keep this one a long time.

But the big question is will we be able to add it to cars in service now? I'm certainly not going to trade my car to get Apple Play. And I wouldn't be at all surprised to find out it won't be available for my 2016.

Some people say 2017 models. But since they are able to demo it on the 2015 model i would be surprised if its not just an update.

If it's an update at all, expect it to be a pricey update. They're not just going to give it to us for free. No they're not.

where I grew up in south florida (palm beach county) , the c-class was the chariot of choice for women over 70, sort of like the lincoln town car is in other parts of the country.

I am not bashing C owners at all, I of course am one. I love it. I will probably get a 450 in a couple years because I love them. This is obviously a group of enthusiasts (we are posting on a C-class forum after all) so no one just bought a C-class because it had the 3-pointed star on the front. We all like and enjoy this car. However, id venture to say that 90% of other c class owners are not enthusiasts such as ourselves, and buy a C-class simply because it is a mercedes. A realtor I recently used was the perfect example. Older woman over 70, not a clue probably about the car, but I asked her if she liked her C300 and she said "yes, i bought it because I like the round air vents inside of the car". THAT is the kind of person I am talking about, no one on here

not implying that no one on here can afford a better car, I am saying that many people buy a c because it is simply a mercedes! plain and simple! once again, a NON enthusiast. if you are on this forum, you are an enthusiast..

I live in Boca Raton Florida and can tell you the C Classes are a poor mans car here. There's a 90% chance that if you pull into Starbucks you will have a Bentley on your left and a Ferrari on the right. They look at me like I just pulled up in a 1987 Ford Pinto.

that was my point, I grew up there as well. I had a 3 series there and people used to call them a "boca civic"
