Don't forget, this is the coupe. We have no idea how much it weighs, so can't pinpoint reasons for the improved 0-60. I would think the transmission will have something to do with it. Wild guess weight has more to do with it.
Oh, and by the way, still no idea if the 9G makes it to the sedan either way.

Of course it does. Even with the same 7-speed tranny, I'd wager that the C43 coupe would likely have an ever-so-slight speed advantage over the C450/C43 sedans.
It's simple math. Same engine in a smaller and lighter car = a little quicker.

A few Posters on here have complained about the transmission in the c450. Three in this thread https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...plus-mode.html and another couple/few in others. Most complaints about sport and sport+, so likely a misunderstanding of what it is supposed to do, but either way some don't like it. I have no complaints from the 2 I drove and would be surprised if I preferred a 9 speed.
Incidentally, my lease will be up in Jan 2019. Any word on the '19 models yet?...

and the transmission is lighter too!

Only real complaint there is when you slow down quicklly and then try to speed up again (like when you slow down and change lanes to get around someone with their *** sticking out trying to turn and then hit the acceleration again). Don't think that's a 7G vs a 9G issue but I'm not a scientician.

Should be a nice car and great to drive. The 0-60 of 4.6s is conservative, just like it was with the C450 so I assume that you can shave off a few tenths from that number.
I for one am excited about this car. I was initially going to get a CLA45 and was waiting until the refresh came this Fall, but then when the C205 coupe was announced, I started leaning towards getting the C450 version. Now that has morphed into the C43 with some good upgrades.
One thing I have been thinking about ever since they changed the C400 to the C450 and now to the C43, I wonder how long they have been thinking about this change? It could not have been a knee-jerk decision and must have been in the works for a while, which makes me wonder why even start with all the changes? They should have just done this from the beginning. Anyways, such is life.

What will happen is that all 450's with less miles will be cheaper than the c43 amg so if your looking for a really good car the 450's will be a bargain!
