i don't think there will be a huge markup

the GLC , GLA and CLA are all made over there too and their pricing isn't anything special

the only cars made in america are the GLE / GLE coupe, GLS, and C sedan.

Fancy! If you pick up a Honda down in those parts you gotta take delivery at Waffle House

Yeah at the Steak & Shake they had this promotion where, for fifty cents, you get a Coke and they enter your name in a raffle to go in the back room and get laid.

I played and never won but my wife must have won like twenty times. After a while she was too tired to even drink her Cokes!

2017 C43 Coupe
I got to test drive the C300 coupe. It was fun in Sport+ mode. Based on that experience, the C43 coupe, with more power, more torque, and better chassis, is going to be SO good. Wish MB would hurry up and release it. This slow "phased" roll-out of the coupes is frustrating.

Agree - any idea when MB will release a pricing guide in the U.S. There is already one online for Grmany - butt can't compare Euros to $$$ - and cars are configured differently - 1.e. very few "packages" - everything is a la carte.

Vipershade posted the order guides in here a couple weeks back, C300 has the pricing but all the AMG stuff is still TBD for the Coupes. Hoping pricing details surface soon.

I'm hoping pricing is pretty close to the sedan. optimistic actually

if you configure a c300 sedan and C300 coupe with the same stuff, the coupe actually depending on how much stuff you buy ends up being cheaper. at most maybe $1000 difference.

Ditto. Believe the base price is $3700 more for the Coupe, but if you go fully loaded to the P3 package you make some of that back. On my Coupe build I'm going fully loaded...before I saw no value in the DA stuff, but since then I've lost a colleague at work who fell asleep driving his Audi early in the morning and crossed 4 lanes into the side of a bridge, so I think the extra money is well worth it for a little extra insurance on not dying while driving at age 30.

DA is worth it just for the adaptive cruise. The steering assist, I'm not quite sure how to use it in a practical sense since it requires hands on every 15 seconds or so but it would step in, wake you up, and guide the car to a safe stop in the meantime. It's not great at holding a clean line though. Tends to hunt and bounce back and forth between the lane markings.

wow...

that is awful. i would have bought drivers assitance, but i'm planning on a pretty base c43 build . i don't like how you need p2 or p3 for drivers assistance. the way the new packages are setup is not great honestly. if i'm ordering anyway i should be able to order drivers assistance without any other requirements i'd hope, but oh well

Yeah, not a huge fan either. As least the Burmester and Sunroof come standard, that's nice. I hate that Dynamic headlights and AMG illuminated doorsills are placed in the highest option package (P3), P2 seems more realistic...and then P3 would layer in the DA stuff.

I hear from others' personal experience that DA and lane control can be quite dangerous at times when you are driving alongside a truck thats wider than normal or is driving close to the line because what our cars would do is pull you closer to the truck

This is by far the biggest issue I have with the new packaging structure. In order to get what was always a stand alone option you now have to get the highest package even if you don't want the other stuff. Odd logic but what can you do.

It doesnt lane adjust based on objects near you but only on the lines on the road. So if youre alongside a trailer wider than its tracks, the DA would try to readjust u to the middle of your lane but in this specific case, you really need to be on the leftmost position in your lane rather than middle

According to the manual at slower speeds (I think less than 35 or 37 MPH) steering will primarily follow the vehicle in front of you, and secondarily use the lines. Above that speeds, it flips and primarily uses the lines and secondarily uses the vehicle in front.

EDIT: This is for the steering assist, not the lane keeping assist. Here's the language:

In a speed range from 0 - 37 mph (0 - 60 km/h),Stop&Go Pilot focuses on the vehicle in front,
taking into account lane markings, e.g. when
following vehicles in a traffic jam.
At speeds of more than 37 mph (60 km/h),
Steering Assist focuses on clear lane markings
(left and right), only focusing on the vehicle in
front if clear lane markings are not present.
Steering Assist and Stop&Go Pilot do not pro-
vide any support if these conditions do not exist.
DISTRONIC PLUS must be active in order for the
function to be available

Thanks - any chance we'll soon see pricing on the C43?

I would expect it pretty soon, I think there were only a few C450s ordered prior to the pricing information being available (order banks open vs. pricing info availability)... so we should see something in the next few weeks.

Might be a bit of a lag on the Coupe pricing though, given the fact that ordering doesn't open for it until August. I guess we will see.

Exactly...

...and based on the dates in the coupe order guide:

We should see the C63/C63S pricing first.

For comparison, here is the same info from the AMG GT order guide:

So we should see the C63/C63S Coupe pricing very soon.

MERCEDES GLA45
My C-43 Sedan is due mid August-- I have ordered it with P3, but the heavy charge and options will come with P4. I don't have a desire for most of the P4 add-ons. My dealer advises that his scuttlebutt is showing a small price increase for the 43 over the 450--not much, and that the options should be close to the c300 numbers. In any event, since they had ordered a 450 for me without noticing the upcoming C43, they agreed to eat any upcharge and honor my old, discounted price. I should say that I have bought dozens of cars from this dealer and they do treat me right. My car will be selenite grey with black leather. I have been an owner of 6 AMG's over the past and am sure that many will really scoff at the C43 since it does not fit with the "one-man, one-engine" theme--not sure I can argue with that. /since I do not really care and like the C450 very much, I believe that I will enjoy the C43.
