C450 tire pressure

I was wondering why it's required to have the front tires at 42psi and the back at 32psi. I have the 18" tires. My other cars always had the back tires at a higher psi. Is it because of 4matic and negative camber?

Nobody knows??? What I also think is crazy is that the max pressure is 50psi for that front tire. After it gets warmed up it gets to 46psi which is close to max.

Curious .... where are those numbers published? What do the stickers on the door sill (max) and the fuel filler door (normal) say?

per the fuel filler cap for 18's, should be at 36psi all around for normal load

C450, GLS 63 and a few other things
Aren't the 18's the all seasons? If so, I believe they are M&S rated, which I'm guessing is the bottom pressures. Can't confirm any of this, mine is still at the dealer waiting for us to dig out from the snow.

my fuel filler door chart looks nothing like that. Im guessing you are not in the US? We have runflat tires so thats why mine is probably 36 all around

right but if you have the 18's it shouldn't make a difference, when I had 328 with staggered wheels the recommended pressures were the same for a 335 with the same wheel setup

I haven't a clue of what you mean. My dealer and Mercedes confirm my pressure differential.

I thought you were implying that even though the 18 inch wheel option are the same on the C300 and the C450, your recommended pressures are different than mine because you have a C450.

I still don't know what you mean. I have implied nothing. What I have expressed is that my c450 has the pressures, from delivery, reflected on the gas tank cover and I'm assured those are the specifications. As far as I'm concerned, it's a mystery as to why the c450 has these specifications.

I think it should make a difference because of the v6 which is heavier.

This is from a C63 fuel door. Even their pressure requirement for the 18" isn't that high, unless you have a full load and plan to go up to 180mph. The pressure difference between front and rear is also not as much as in the C450

Probably tire manufacturer dependant?
