C450 owner-to-be with a question
Hi everyone,
New to the site, and shall be receiving my first MB this summer.
I have a question however for you connaisseurs out there. The answers I received from the dealer were rather unclear so I figured I'd ask someone who actually owns a c450. So here goes my question:
I did not opt for the Premium Package (had no real need for navigation system nor the upgraded audio system and other add-ons for the price). Can someone tell if I will still be able to connect an iphone/ipod into the USB connector of the center console/armrest, and stream the music via the USB? I also want to know if I will be able to control the music from the car and not have to change tracks on the ipod itself. If not, can I have the same result by streaming via bluetooth, and control the songs via the car? Not sure if this changes anything, but we are talking about a Canadian c450.
I know this seems like a minute detail, but its actually really important to me that I be able to play my iphone music while stuck in traffic. I'm really hoping that the lack of Premieum Package doesn't affect this.
Can anyone out there help me shed some light on this?

You definitely need to get the Lighting Package and I am not sure if you can get it without adding on the premium package. It makes the car look twice its worth. really. The halogen headlights look worse than Corolla headlights.

Don't go cheap if you go benz...I regret not adding the Multimedia pkg but I have cranberry red leather interior, linden wood, pano roof, lighting pkg, rearview cam...multimedia is the one I shouldve added, the Burmester you can do without, and you can do without the leather interior but use that to get the lighting, pano, and multimedia.

Halogen? The only lighting options I have are Static LED or Active LED. No halogen.
Note that this is a Canadian c450. Pano sunroof is standard, heated seats, maybe even more I will compare later.

Alright so I built one on MB USA site and indeed you guys have a lighting package not offered in Canada. LED lights are standard here. Thanks for the head's up though.
After doing so I also realized that with the current exchange rate Americans would save a bundle by buying a C450 in Canada.

I know its ridiculous, its about 20% cheaper before dealer discounts in Canada. But going through all the logistics and paperwork to get the car registered in the states doesnt seem to be worth the hassle nor do many MB owners have the time to spare for that purpose. Americans are lazy as well so keep that in mind. We want something and we want it now or delivered into our hands, hassle free. We don't mind paying as you can see with our national debt. lol
