Go home, Weirdo Tint Gap, you're drunk!
Does anyone else have this weird gap and/or know how to get rid of it?
My installer tells me it's because the double pane glass is cut at an angle so there's nothing they can do as it's installed from the inside.
He's a pretty awesome person so I want to believe him.
Might have to click the images to see them in full size.

Ps- Happy Friday!
That's actually great news. It's something I can live with and he's been my "go-to" guy for the past few years so I would hate to feel like I had to go somewhere else in the future.

Sometimes cheap tint shops will pull the tint back a few mm from the edge, I assume that's what happened with your first install. That has nothing to do with what we are discussing here though.
My own tint including many others has a consistent edge where you can see the outer glass protruding over the tinted inner pane.
I guess it would be helpful if the OP could get a close up shot of the edge of the glass. Can' determine from that distance whether the tint is all the way the edge of inside pane or pulled off a little bit. I know that some installers use a file to ensure perfect tint to the edge of the glass and not just trim it close with a blade.
I'll try to remember to snap a close up later today.
However, I can tell you right now that I felt it with the tip of my finger after I posted this thread and read some of the replies. I could feel a gap at the top of the window like it was more than one piece so I just assumed it was what everyone was referencing here and didn't investigate further.
