Traffic Jam Assist Rules!
Almost 45 minutes in bumper to bumper X 4 lanes on I-75 to go five miles. Never had to touch the wheel, brake or gas. I shot a little video I'll upload later. Unlike steering assist in cruise mode where it asks you to constantly grab the wheel, no prompts at low speed.

That sounds comfy! Is this in 2016 models? I only see a sterribg assist on my 15 C300 with Distronic+.

Hard to see what's going on, but the red LEDs on the speedo and the green Steering Assist icon near the Dynamic mode icon show the system is active...

I think any W205 with the Drivers Assistance package will do it.

Gotta try it in a traffic jam scenario.
Thanks!

Yeah, I guess at low speeds stop and go it functions differently, which makes sense...hard to get into much trouble at 5mph. I think under 20 it's in traffic jam mode, over its regular Distronic +. I don't see much use for steering assist in normal cruise. Usually just shut it off.

Best feature of the car IMO. Love it! I think mine sticks to the car in front all by itself (without the warning to take the wheel) if speed stays under 30 km/h. It even stops temporarily and resumes but if you come to a full stop for anything more than a couple of seconds you have to tap the accelerator or pull the cruise stalk to resume.

I wouldn't say a traffic jam is a joy to be in, but boy does it make a huge difference on your stress and frustration levels to have this kind of tech on board. Letting the car do the driving, with you just monitoring, is so much smoother and less stressful. Most of the time I'm stuck in a jam is due to a nose-to-tail accident because everyone is following too close or lacking attention. I wish we had this as a 'mandatory' feature on our cars. The commute home would be so much quicker and smoother

Yeah, the frustration is repeatedly having to gauge the flow, roll ten feet, stop etc. But with the autopilot on, catch up on some email, send a text, buy a shirt. Whatever. Pair it with the Traffic alert and you can see how long before you'll need to take control back. Really nice feature.

Outstanding, it will be nice to knock a few emails out rather than just wasting the time spent in traffic. That will free my post-drive time up from any work obligations. Love it.

Oh, this is cool too. A long press on the steering wheel Talk button brings up Siri. I dictate texts to her, she reads them back aloud and asks permission to send. She'll also read texts and emails aloud on command, check headlines, etc. Like having a little robot executive assistant in the car.
