2016 C450 AMG
My car has been doing this since day one. If I am backing out of a space turning the wheel tight and start to move forward as im straightening out the wheels, the steering wheel vibrates. Its relatively strong, stronger than the feedback I get from the lane assist. It also happens if im doing a U turn and straightening out after the turn is accomplished.
I drive a C450, so im not sure if the odd 4-matic may have something to do with it. It doesn't feel like wheel rub and I haven't seen any marks indicating any rubbing is occurring.
Thanks in advance for any help.

I have a newly purchased 2016 C450 and attempted to duplicate your situation and my car does NOT produce the same results no vibration feedback occurs over the steering wheel for me.

Well, after a week and a half in a loaner they have contacted me to say " we compared it to several new models and found them to have a very similar condition. My technician and foreman have deemed that this is normal operation".
Im not very happy to say the least. I have a feeling that this is "normal" operation but because of a problem with the engineering of the weird 4 matic system in it. So now I have a brand new car that people ask what is wrong with it. Embarrassing both for me and Mercedes.
If you have similar issues you should raise a stink. There are people ordering their C43s now that I think will be displeased when they end up having the same problem.
Also im curious with those that have the same problem what tires/wheels you have. I have a feeling that this might help exacerbate the issue. Im on 18s and continentals.

Same. Car has 350 miles. Does the same thing. I am taking it in Monday for speaker rattle (known issue), piece of open pour ash trim is popping out passenger side door, and to have this looked at.

Same issue occurs while im straightening out the wheel after backing out of a parking spot. Although it doesn't affect the driveability of the car, it is somewhat annoying.

Hey Linkerage. Can you add a poll on to keep track of who experiences this issue on their c450?
So today I got my C450 back after 3.5 weeks! The part (steering rack) had to be shipped from Germany. They need to get some parts over in the US! I had a previous part needed to be shipped and took a month as well. (different issue).
The techs did replicate it and found the electrical power steering rack faulty. Per sheet, they did a 3 miles test and alignment.
Now, thinking it was all good, the second time I drove it today to pick up the wife, it suddenly occurred again as she felt it as well.
I will be talking to my SA and Mercedes CS about this tomorrow but won't put it in the shop unless I feel it again. Which I assume it will.

I had a feeling that was going to happen. I am betting this was poor engineering on the odd 4matic ratio. I was unable to add a poll in the edit so I made a new post here.

I just got a new loaner yesterday 200 miles, c300 coupe did it. Drove another c450 did it.
Another sales guy at dealer has a c450 with 7k miles, did it.
C300 owner was in - did it.
I had a c300 sedan loaner last week until my parts were ordered for the speaker bracket holders.. that did it.

Please see my thread I made yesterday and my post on the thread.

Some people did not have this issue on their C450. This makes me wonder why if this really has something to do with C450 4MATIC system.

To my knowledge, there is no difference in the 4matic of the C43 and the C450.

Just curious. I always ask people who live in the same area. I'm just glad you didn't say Ray Catena.
So this is obviously not definitive, but I turned off steering assist this morning before backing out of the driveway and I did not get the vibration.

No. I do understand it bc I am driving it!
The issue is that it vibrates when straightening out, correct. Now, driving other 4wd, it does not do this. The question is does this happen to other 4matics or just for the c450.
It recently happens more often in my case, which I never felt for the last 3k miles of owning it.
I would like others to chime in their mileage as well when they started to feel the vibration.
Car is going to be looked at today, we'll see what they say.

Mine doesn't do it and it doesn't come with steering assist.

So if I am making the summary right, MB is claiming this is normal as they try other vehicles and they all vibrate.
Based on the data points here, it seems that it has nothing to do with steering assist as both w/ and w/o will make it happen.
Mine vehicle does not do it nor does it equips with steering assist. It's an early build (march 2015) C300 4matic.
Thus for your question back to Mercedes, why does it happen on your car? And is it safety related?
I am concerned because I may be getting a C43 soon and I hope this issue gets resolved.
