Canadian C43 order

Just wondering if any members in Canada have run into this, trying to order a C43 sedan with the amg performance package and they are saying it requires me to add the amg performance seats as well. In the dealer order guide it doesn't mention anything about this being required or included. The issue is that you can't get the ventilated seats which I currently use all the time (even in winter) so it's actually a big deal for me. I don't want to loose the performance exhaust that's included in the package, but losing the ventilated seats also sucks. Not sure what to do or if my dealer is just crazy!

I believe this is the case in Australia as well from what I've read here. If it sticks, that's really ****ty on MB's part...but I wouldn't be surprised, given the rest of their packaging for the MY17 C-Classes is geared towards sucking as much money out of you for 5 things you don't want to get the 1 thing you do want.

If that`s true, I`m happy with my C450 as I do not want the performance seats but would have definitely felt like I needed the performance exhaust on a C43...

Yeah it's not even the cost that pisses me off, I just want it optioned the way I want. Makes even less sense given that they are produced in the same plant in the USA which doesn't limit you to this. Which really boggles my mind!

Well turns out dealer was crazy and was able to get it how I wanted it optioned out after some back and forth with me. So deposit is down and order in! Now the waiting game on build and delivery.

Never take the initial "it's not possible" answer. Good job on getting what you wanted!

Just wondering how big a difference will ventilated seat make? I had it on my build first but found out it is no more than a couple cpu fans put in the seat and I dropped it.

Great build by the way. In the waiting game, time is your enemy.

From what I've read here it's kind of hit and miss on what people think of the ventilated seats, some seem to think they work well, others think they are useless. Haven't tried it on a Mercedes but figure something is better than nothing lol. And ya pretty much ticked off all the options lol, wasn't going to get the 360 camera, but after I've gone this far, might as well load it all!

For $450, the ventilated seats is a flyer worth taking IMO. Even if they only provide marginal benefit, it's only $450 so it's not really anything to be concerned about.

I'm moving more and more towards the same train of thought for the HUD. I recently added it to my order bc it's only $990, so it's worth giving it a shot to see how much utility I gain.

From what I got from the dealer and carcostcanada, the weather comfort front seat is a $1200 CND option, for a hit and miss cool butt...I mean if it is a miss, I might as well spend half of that money to get some UV or heat block window film...but that's just me being cheap

HUD here in Canada is $1500 which is OK but I usually drive with prescribed polarized sunglasses during the day and it's still back ordered. Even if I drive 24h a day and turn on the HUD immediately it would still be realizing only 50% of the value. I'm gonna skip that one for sure.

Man I feel like HUD is a very important part of your driving experience isn't it.

Man I would kill for a fully loaded C43, must be really badass. Yeah I found a lot of mixed reviews too so that's why I have doubt. Looking forward (way forward) for your feedback though!

My justification in the end it what's another 2700 when you've already sunk 70 000 into it Lol... Dealer threw in prepaid maintenance for 4 years and another 1800 off msrp, so it's like those are options are free lol... Not as good as some guys are getting down south. But other dealer in town wouldn't even budge off msrp.

My justification is that by unchecking those boxes I am trading my medium-well buttock for a years insurance money. I think you got a pretty sweet deal, MB dealers here usually stand firm on their prices. Either buy it or go, almost like they don't care for your business especially when buying, may I quote the dealer, "just a C class".

If you're spending > $60-65k on a car, they care about your business. If you're just buying a CLA or C300, maybe not so much.

Just out of curiosity with it being my first Benz, how long does it generally take to have the order locked in and get a build date? Few days? Week? Month? Signed everything at the dealers and gave them the thumbs up on the build they entered on June 24th. Just wondering when I should start bugging them again for a build date, yes little excited lol

Hey, I am heading to some of the dealers near Toronto to find a nice deal on a new C450. I did not know Canadian dealers are taking in order for C43. Is there anyway you can PM me which dealer you are going to and how much is it costing you if you do not mind? I just wanted to know if the new C43 is priced in the same bracket as the old C450.

If the C43 is more expensive then I would have to put in an order for the C450 immediately before it disappears.

Thanks!

I was dealing with a dealer in Edmonton, as for the price I can't tell you, they still don't have pricing on the model or options yet. Basically just agreed to a discount off msrp. Have the option of getting my deposit back if pricing is way off from the 450. They didn't expect the base price to increase much (under 1000 increase if any) but what worries me more is the option pricing.

So the performance exhaust comes in not part of the base package in the C43? In the current one I do not think there is any performance exhaust options with any one of the package.

That's correct... The performance exhaust is included in the Amg drivers package option on the C43. This package is not available on the current C450.

So there is no way to know how much the AMG Driver's package is going to cost? Do you think this is a package which worth holding off buying the C450 for?

I made that choice yes, between the performance exhaust and the 9 speed transmission I decided to wait for the C43. Others have been happy to pick up a C450 at a good discount. So that's really only a question you can answer depending on the deal you are able to negotiate with your dealer on either one.

I am curious to see how MB pricing structure works for the c43 since it's now an AMG. c450 has both, good lease rates and finance rates now (though it's been out some time now). I am wondering how much of the rates will be affected by being an AMG.

I want a c43 sedan or GLC43 as replacement for my c350.

If it's anything like the Euro and US pricing, it won't be much (if any) different from the C450.

I think HUD is more of an annoyance than anything. Never liked it in the BMW's or any if the american builds either

Hey guys, so I did the same thing OP here. Put in a deposit for a C43, but my sales rep was really pushing me hard to take a c450 right then and there, gave a 3000 CAD discount with a 2.9 percent lease, which was kind of hard to say no to and they were not pleased when I did. Anyway I was adamant about waiting it out for c43 which they bregudgingly accepted. But they said if the c43 becomes way out of my budget and then I opt for a c450, they might not be offering me the 3000 dollar discount, but they will try their best to get me a deal.

What I wanted to know is, for example if the c43 is priced way higher when it comes out than my expectation and they don't give me a good deal on the C450 either, can I ask for my security deposit back from them because I am not happy with any of the deals they are providing me with?
