Panoramic sunroof, pros and cons

So, i got a estate C180 in polar white on order, and cant decide if i should go for panoramic sunroof or not.

I hope i can get some help with the desition here

Mostly i want it because the black roof would be nice with polar white and night package. I think im going crazy with all the options and over thinking just about everything

Is there anyone who got some problems with this roof yet?

Thanks to everyone in advance

I have it but it's closed 90% of time. I got it for the black roof on the exterior. You could always just get the roof wrapped in gloss black and get the same look.

I have had it in my last two vehicles and I love it. Brings in fantastic light. The only con I have is you will probably hear more road noise. You defi get used to it. But when I first got it I definitely noticed a lot more toad noise than with the stanard moonroof/sunroof. But imho that was not a deal killer. In fact I have grown to continue to add it to future vehicles.

If you always wished your moonroof/sunroof opened more then the pano roof is for you!

Correct me if I'm wrong but in w205 u either get pano roof or no sunroof. That's what my sales person told me. Iv had 3 w204s with pano. I love it. If your in an area that gets lots of hail like me it's a pro to have it

Have it... Redundant in summer... Too much sun and heat comes in..
Nice in winter... Let's a ton of light into what would otherwise be a dark rear end of the wagon.... Better for kids too lighter and airier...
Polar white heeds the contrast black roof IMO so if you opt not to then perhaps a gloss wrap panel in its place....

Thank you guys I'll change my order tomorrow. The polar white def need the black contrast! And Mr. J, youre absolutely right!

I'm a little wiggly on distronic aswell to... Do not feel the glass star in grill, and was even a little afraid when i tried it.
It really doesn't brake smoothly nor early enougt IMO.

Before you make a final decision, really check out the rear seat headroom. There is definitely a reduction in headroom, especially in the rear. I'm 6 feet tall and my head hits the roof in the back with the pano roof installed. Without the pano roof, I can be comfortable the the back seat. I've never tried the estate though, only the sedan.

I got my diamond white metallic with the pano sunroof for pretty much the same reason, the contrast looks very cool to me (and to a few sweet young things when I first got it, now, not so much since it's been out for a while). I've considered black rear-view mirror covers or black wheels for some extra bling, but I'm good with the black pano/white body so far. Maybe next time. pek

Exactly what i think man! So you got tired of how it looks after a while, or didnt i understand what you mean? I ordered the night package with black window trim, tintet windows, black mirrors, black wing detail on front bumper and black diffusor on rear bumper.

I think i will order pano and maybe delete distronic as i dont like the glass star in grill... Cant wait!

I would prefer distronic over the pano roof. But you have to choose what is best in your opinion, not what others think.

This is true if you travel long distance, use the highway often Or Use cruise control often. There is no after market product that can replicate or replace the distronic feature. Once you leave it out, theres no going back. Be 100% sure about leaving such a handy feature out.

Just a heads up, you may want to research the open pore wood for the center panel. The other trims will show scratches/wear within a few months. I can only imagin how it will look in a few years

Estate has a good inch greater head room so its a non issue..

And if they start complaining make em walk..

Hate sunroofs/moonroofs! That was one option I wouldn't flex on when buying my 2016. You lose headroom, gain weight, excessive wind noise and the sun is always in your face (in California anyway). Soooo glad I found my w205 without one!

I got sedan C180 polar white and i went with pano roof. it is a must have for a light colored car (i.e white, diamond silver or irridium silver).
I also live in Norway, and as it is not extremely hot here in the summer time, my pano roof is often open if it is over 15 degrees and no rain.
As others have mentioned - it lets in a lot of light.
Distronic - i regret not getting it, but in hindsight, i drive in Oslo mainly, and have only used cruise control 10 times maybe in the last 2 years. So 25.000NOK would be a waste. I did however choose the blind spot assist for 5.000NOK.
i will most likely not get the distronic plus package next time either.
but may choose Airmatic.

I didn't get it for two reasons. I didn't like the way it looks from the exterior. The way the rear does not match with the rear glass bothers me.

And the weight, adds a good bit of weight for something I would rarely use.

My roof is very quiet when opened. Even at 75mph on the freeway into a headwind in the Columbia Gorge, I was still able to have a normal conversation with the back seat passengers. This one is superior to all the others I've had previously. We get much less sun up here during the rainy season. If we lived down in SoCal and were drenched in sunlight year round then the roof might be less appealing. Up here in the soggy pasty moldy Pacific Northwest, the pano roof is a must have.

Same here in the dog**** midwest...I'll take any Vitamin D (i.e. the sun) I can get, whenever I can get it. If I was worried about the heat/rays I'd throw some ceramic tint on the pano and call it a day.

That was a non-negotiable for me. No Pano, didn't even look. Even had a crazy offer on a CPO c400, 15k miles, for 35k. Turned it down because of no Pano.

i also keep mine closed all the time, but the sun shade is ALWAYS open when im driving (close it to keep some of the sun's heat away when you park outside).

makes the cabin way more spacious feeling and it looks fantastic on a white car

I can't be mad at you, I told myself if my car doesn't have two of the following; a pano roof and the day time running lights, then I didn't want a mercedes benz. But if i was quoted that price for the c400, I would of forgot what a pano roof was, and don't let it have some extras like distronic or 360 . I would of been just like that meme, " shut up and take my money "
