Hi, I have purchased an OBD 2 scanner ELM 327 and downloaded Torque app but I can't seem to figure out how to connect it to the screen, can anybody help with that?
Yes, you need to go to the hidden menu where you can add apps for your home screen.
There is a OBD program which allow you to connect
Great thank you that was very helpfull. I was able to connect it. so this is just a cheap OBD 2 scanner I had. Anybody has one to recommend to be used with these cars?
Hey are you guys able to keep the stock sirius/XM unit playing music while you use other features on this screen (e.g. - waze or google maps, carplay) or is that a no-no?
Quick question can anyone please take a look at their AC temperature display and the outside temperature display on the unit and tell me if it accurate with what your car displays? The temperatures my car display VS what’s on the android screen are off, see the picture. Anyone having this issue? An it’s the same issue with the outside temp too
I just installed the new curved 10.25 from car-life mall - in general all good apart from...
NGT4.X audio via the 20pin (no usb/or aux). The problem is that there is noise (like a bee) on the audio when i power up the engine (particularly when i step on the gas...and rpm goes up).
Do you have any idea why that may happens? Is there any chance for bad connections or bad grounding? Have you dealed with a similar case?
Greetings,
George
P.S: @ Coldfact how did you installed this amazing skin/background?
The newest 4G have the same crappy firmware as the V2 as well.
To change the resolution is quite simple, I found an article that describes all the steps for a non-root user. https://joyofandroid.com/change-screen-resolution/
I changed it when I was testing it on a bench before installing it in the car, so I cannot tell how the NTG picture will look like, but the launcher was all messed up, background picture not fitting, the left side with the car, clock items was moved upwards...
I used it to install Google assistant that required at least 720p. Once installed it can be reverted. But I haven't had this issue again once I updated the firmware and had to reinstall everything, so I am not sure.
Basically hardware wise it has the potential but it would be better to adapt the launcher. Oh, and the launcher is not fully black in the settings for example, what makes it look, like well, pure Android.
What settings did you run when you changed the resolution?

Usually electrical interference with the route you have taken the aux cable. Re-route that cable away from other electrics. If you can't then a ground loop isolator may work but does drop the volume as well.

The problem is that i don't know which one is the aux cable since it s connected via the 20pin cable. Any idea which cable is for the audio??
I was looking through this thread to jump on the upgrade wagon and stumbled across this from Naviplus, has anyone else tried it? I pinged them and they said it'll be a drop in replacement for the 8.5" Command in my 2018 C class and doesn't seem to need all the aux and external mics.
Hey Guys, First time here, I've learned a lot viewing and searching through this thread, so Thank you to everyone that contributed !
I just installed the Android 10.25" screen yesterday but I can't figure out why I'm not getting any audio through the system..? Bluetooth connects fine, displays the song that playing but no sound, I searched and triple checked all my wirings and connections but still no sound. I've activated AUX and followed all directions that I've came across but with no luck. Unfortunately I didn't purchase from Chris at CKM, I've been kicking myself non stop since I started the install .... two days ago....
Reached out to the company I bought it from for help but no answer....
Any ideas that anyone could point me towards a solution?

not being funny but you sure your original head unit is on? i know I thought I'd done something wrong when I done my first install but I'd turned the original head unit off.
how are you connected to your car USB , AUX or Bluetooth?

Yes, original head unit is on, that was the first thing I thought of too. lol
I'm connected via Bluetooth.
I think I’m gonna take it back apart and retrace my steps to make sure I didn’t miss something or connected something where I wasn’t supposed to.
Hello. After the update i have the following issue:
Sound always plays on the left speaker, not only Navigation, every sound. Shortly after playing sound like spotify, the Audio20 switches to the USB Dongle, now sound is played everywhere and also on the left speaker "double"
I can not fix this. Does someone have a idea? Thanks
I learnt that CKM's 10.25 inch android screens now support LTE bands B1 3 7 8 39 40 41.
Has anyone successfully managed to activate LTE with any carriers in the USA? I read that Google Fi supports band41 now and is wondering whether it will work.
Mine is really not accurate, where did you put your antenna ?
Do you know which antenna is used by the NTG GPS after the screen installation ?
Yes, I would also be interested in knowing from the COMAND which connectors are used for the GPS antenna, for the radio antenna and for the telephone/data antenna, to reuse them with the display.
Currently I have an external GPS connected to the display and I left the original connectors on the COMAND as they were. The external GPS is under the front loudspeaker grill. It is a very direct access for the display. Mine gets signal in the display in less than a minute.
Thank you for your answer.
To remove the grill, it's easy no ? no screws, only clips I presume ?
I believed that NTG stayed connected to the original antenna and that the screen was connected to the antenna delivered with it... But maybe I'm assuming wrong...

The original GPS antenna is on the roof right ?
Yes, that's right, you just need to pry it with some plastic to pull it out. There are even some tools that you can buy to do it.
I am not sure where the OEM gps is located, somehow I think I read somewhere that it was in the rear part of the car.
