Dechromed trunk and door handles
I was looking at the new coupe at the dealership the other day and noticed something... Besides how much it looked like an accord coupe... Was how good the tail looks without the chrome bar. I'm thinking about painting mine and I haven't seen it done yet. I've seen some blacked out cars done with vinyl, but I'm not going to find a perfect match for my diamond silver.
Has anyone removed their chrome trunk strip and painted it?

I haven't done it to my car, although I did ask the dealer how much it would cost for them to do. They quoted around £100 to spray them black (although this was at cost since the car was new), so it can't be too big of a job.
If you go ahead with it post some sexy pictures, it'll be interesting to see how it looks.

My concern about matching was is I do a vinyl wrap. They only make what they make. I am certain my body guy can match the paint. Either way the trim looks like it needs to come off the car first before color is applied.

I have a black car and vinyl wrapped my trunk strip, I much prefer it to the chrome. I would love to do the doorhandles but don't think I could wrap them skillfully and I wonder about the durability of plastidip. If anyone does door handles I would love to see pics and hear how it was done.

I had my door handles wrapped and it didn't take long before they started coming off on the edges. I bought these https://www.ebay.com/itm/262302094676 and plan to sand them down , primer and paint. It's a $25 gamble and can be removed if it turns out looking bad.

That's an interesting idea, painting the aftermarket covers. Those handles look like they might feel a bit chunky. The description says they go on with 3m tape. I found a used chrome trunk strip on eBay I might buy to eff around with.

I would not plasti dip the door handles. Plasti dip on something like the door handles would probably not last too long, even though it usually works out fairly well on a lot of other parts of the car.
