AMG line front brake callipers are made by Brembo
Just stripped, cleaned, and rebuilt my 12month old AMG line c250 front brakes..
They looked pristine from the outside before I started..they weren't..
Pads out, callipers and rotors off and all the hidden filth is evident..
Cleaned everything up and low and behold the callipers and rotors are
Marked up with Brembo casting and stamp marks..... Neat...
Also the factor pads have built in stainless backing shims and a rubberised layer to stop pad chatter / squeals I presume.... Coppaslip On the back of the pads anyway..
Just thought I'd share coupla bits I learned today.... 👍🏻

Brembo makes tons of OEM parts, not really surprising. At the end of the day they are one of the largest brake manufacturers, they make their real money supplying OEMs, not selling big brake kits or aftermarket stuff.
All of the newer MB brake parts are very high quality, as you say the pads all include shims and noise prevention measures, the rotors are coated and very nicely finished, etc. The reality is, as these cars get bigger/heavier and faster, the brakes have to grow to accommodate. The resulting factory stuff is pretty awesome compared to 10 years ago.

Same thought crossed my mind too...
Decided to clean and seal mine instead....
I also noticed the pads had a code on them starting FE...
Thought it likely Ferrodo supplies the pads themselves...

Do you have any tips for cleaning the brake dust from the drill holes on the disc? Also I have always suspect the front discs on the AMG line cars have a slightly larger diameter compare to the standard cars.

I sure do, I used a small straight pick tool to poke the ****e into the ventilated area of the disc.. The bits fall out the vents as the discs rotate..
They fill again within a few months of highway use though...

Hello,
I intend to exchange my standard brake system for the AMG Line brake system. Has anyone ever bled a used Brembo fixed caliper?
According to WIS, new brake calipers are delivered prefilled, otherwise they cannot be bled.

Brembo and other manufacturers including AMG/MB monobock have 2 bleeder nipples on each side of the caliper.

The 4 grub screws (Inbus) are screw plugs and are screwed in with high strength. From 4 pieces I got one open. Don't think that they are planned for bleeding.

If the grub screws are for venting, how does it work?
Thanks for feedback.
Sorry for my formulations. Is a Deepl translation.

So, I got the allen screws open now. How does it work?
Remove the screws and fill them with brake fluid and then bleed them through the one bleeding nipple?
Greetings
