C43 AMG performance exhaust vs standard AMG sport exhaust
So every c43 has the standard sports exhaust. But a $1250 option has a valvetronic exhaust option.
Does the optional exhaust make the noise louder or just has the valvetronic control?
I sat in a c43 with the option and revved it at cold start. It sounded no different than the c43 without the option. I pressed the exhaust button on the console and didn't hear any more noise.
I am inclined to order without the option but just want to make sure I am not missing something

For those of you who know the S+ exhaust crackle in the C450, did they just take the exhaust out of the c450 and put it into the c43 as an option now? Because the C450 does change notes in S+.
Is there a crackle and pop in the C43 in S+ with the standard exhaust?

My 43 coupe still produces some pops and crackles in comfort mode with the flaps open. In sports+, it is a completely different animal. I believe it's been discussed before, but apparently the flaps are meant to make the car quieter, not louder. Perhaps that's why you did not notice a difference. I definitely notice a difference when I rev the car with the flaps closed vs open.

There are a few posts in the C63/C43 W205 section that the standard exhaust does not have the pops and crackles Of course, there are a few posts here that those have "gone away" on the C450s as well.

Had the chance to drive a c43 cabrio without the sport exhaust. From what I could hear, the pops occur very rarely, and the sound is much more subdued. I could hardly differentiate the volume from the c300. The sport exhaust is more comparable to the 2016 c450 exhaust, as you can make the pops occur pretty much at every deceleration and downshift

Test drove a C43 coupe without the perf exhaust over the weekend...definitely felt quieter than my 450 in sport + with barely noticeable crackles. I am going to guess that in terms of loudness, its gonna be C43 standard exhaust -> 450 -> C43 amg perf. exhaust.

My car even crackles and pops in Comfort when I switch to Manual mode, but even sometimes in auto. Although its not as loud as in Sport+.

I have a 2017 C43 - after I did not like the C450 exhaust last year.
Never test the volume in N. you need the load of acceleration to know the sound.
Sport+ tunes the engine as well, and the additive Sport+ with the valves open is WAY louder than the C450 - especially the crackle on gear changes either way.
Otherwise I wasn't happy.
I spent a lot of $ tuning exhaust in my E550 with V8. This is better.

With cold start, the performance exhaust sounds the same open and closed for the first few seconds. Once things have warmed up and idling is no longer bringing down your RPM, there is a clear audible difference between the exhaust valves open and closed.
