Well, the accelerator pedal is a whole replacement unit. You need to remove it and change it with the new one. For the brake pedal, only the rubber part needs to be removed. If you need more info, I can PM you the procedure.
I upgraded mine, too, and I'm glad I did. I got the full replacement unit firebird90 mentions from the ebay store of a MB dealer, which gave me a cost break.
The trickiest part of the installation IMO is removing the cable that connects to the accelerator. There's a tiny white plastic pin shaped like a railroad tie that has to be fully removed before the cable clip can be pulled free. Then it has to be replaced in exactly the right way with the new unit, of course. Give yourself plenty of time and a lot of light if you go with the real deal. Personally, I thought the slightly extra cost and effort were worth it.
I installed a matching dead pedal from eBay using Velcro.
any link? I have the OEM all-weather mats but RHD models don't have the extension to cover footrest. There is also an OEM footrest but it is only available in Japan and really expensive.
I have the one with red backing. Velcroed to summer floor mat.
