2016 Mercedes C300
Make non sport W205 look sportier :)

Hello,
After an exhaustive 2 month car search, I am finally getting a 2016 Mercedes C300 non-sport version(Preferred this over sport version ride) with the premium 2 package that comes with LED headlights, panoramic roof and has the standard 17-inch 5-spoke wheels.

This is my first car and i have always imagined a white car with blacked-out/carbon-fiber look.

Reference Google Images : http://akimage.vinsolutions.com/v/42...422514296/r640
http://veh-markets.com/uploads/postf...ar-white-5.jpg

Any recommendations on how to make it sportier in terms of looks.

Going to restrict myself to a budget of $2000

1)Front grill

2) Very light dark tint on the rear tail lights and 25% tint on the windows, blackout the chrome parts

3) Carbon fiber spoiler
4) Video in motion- Don't really need it but its nice to have.

5) Front Bumper
  • Wrap/Mod part of bumper with carbon fiber similar to this car

6) Side Mirror carbon fiber slips

7) Plasti-dip/wrap rims?

8) Dinon pluggable tune.

Have you test driven a sport version? If you haven't, you really missed out. If you did and didn't like it, I'm baffled. I had a non-sport loaner and it was like a Corolla. But I guess it's personal preference. Anyway, here's something you can do. All the parts are on Ebay for cheap.

Switching to 18" wheels will greatly improve the appearance but eat up a lot of the compliance in the base car's suspension. I'd suggest driving a base on 18's to be sure you're happy with the ride.

I had the same dilemma and ended up building a Sport with AirMatic. Also swapped out the runflats for Michelin Pilot Supersports. Big difference in smoothness.

Also, the car in the front images is the wider and longer C63 with a very different front fascia. The Sport has a large chrome chin spoiler but the base car just gets a little sliver. Nothing to wrap.

I was in same deal as you deciding whether to get a sport without panoramic or a base without panoramic. Ended up with the sport with help of Mike and few others. Only kicking myself for not waiting on a '16 so I could get free mBrace remote starter. IMO the sport only really only looks different in the rear bumper with the vents on the side and the rims. The base rims look so ugly to me, if I were you I would just upgrade to 18"s like Mike said maybe change out the back bumper to amg styling and tint windows. Personally don't find the AMG grill that attractive to spend extra for or the AMG C300 front bumper, the C63 front much is nicer..but don't know if it would fit the base C300.

Just some small touches can amp up the car visually. I just picked up a C63 style rear diffuser and exhaust tips, and staggered 18" replica W204 C63 wheels.

Thanks. I'm very happy with it. It was only around $1,000 for wheels and the bumper, so a lot of bang for the buck. How's yours coming?

OEM parts off my C450 Coming Soon

I'm about to swap a few parts off my C450 so will be looking for a buyer. Parts include the front diamond grill and the rear diffuser with dual style exhaust tips all OEM off my C450. All in great condition. Only have 1500 miles on my sled...

Oh I did buy a true CF diffuser from Germany but after doing further research I don't think it will fit when I do the c63 rear conversion...my loss is your gain. This one is legit not the plastic stuff from China. If you appreciate quality this piece is for you. PM for details

Let me ask you something you put a sport bumper in your base model but you didn't have the AMG package?? I heard you have to have the amg package in order to put in the sport bumper with the vents that I'm in love with.

Hi Italiano,

Good news for you... any style sedan rear bumper fits on any style sedan C-Class. I have the base styling and installed a sport/AMG rear bumper. It fits.

Yeah dude, I did get really lucky to find one already painted my color for $350, for sure! There are some new ones on Ebay for around $340 (primed, need to be prepped and painted): https://www.ebay.com/itm/232675171798

Or, another option is new and painted your color for $743: https://paintedautobodyparts.com/mer...2015-2018.html

Keep in mind that good paint (a good painter) is not cheap. As an example, I paid ~$270 for an aftermarket pair of primed Sport/AMG Rocker Covers (side skirts) and ended up paying $600 to get them painted well.

Hey Andy! I installed them about a month ago or so. I need to take some good pictures and update my project thread

I can say; swapping the base/avantgarde rocker panel covers to the sport/AMG rocker panel covers makes a HUGE difference. You wouldn't think a little poke, styling swoops, and lower chrome trim would change the look so much, but it really did! I think the change is more pronounced by the car being low also. I'm very happy with the swap. In lieu of better pictures, here are 2 quick comparison pics:

Thanks dude! Step by step, I'm getting there. My new front bumper is at the body shop now getting the sensor holes filled, then over to paint.
