DINANTRONICS Sport Maximum Gains: Up to 30 HP, 40 lb-ft of torque.
DINANTRONICS Sport is the boost controller for the masses. Its simple design/execution allows for easy installation/removal that can be performed in a blink of an eye and yields results you will be sure to feel, and enjoy, from the get go. Coupled with Bluetooth capabilities right out of the box that allows for user controlled adjustability and a live boost monitor to keep track of the action its a value proposition that is unequaled in the marketplace.
DINANTRONICS Sport plugs into a single sensor which lends itself to a very quick and and discrete installation, or removal, should the need arise. Not only does this connection method offer a simplified install but also effectively utilizes the factory DME, in tandem with itself, in order to re-map boost, fueling, and timing for optimal performance. Once installed DINANTRONICS Sport enjoys connectivity to various smartphone devices courtesy of its built-in Bluetooth Smart system. From the free app one has the freedom to reduce stock boost for valet duties or crank up the boost all the way up to the "race" setting for maximum enjoyment… or anywhere in between. Regardless of what setting is chosen there is a power level for everyone. Also within the app the end user has access to a live boost monitor which streams boost data in real time to the phone very similar in appearance to the sport gauges on the iDrive. Not only will you be able to feel the difference but now you can see it as well!
Perhaps best of all, the unit automatically detects which engine it is installed upon and loads the approprate mapping. Effectively making a single unit compatible with an extremely wide range of applications making switching to a new vehicle, sharing with another, or selling the unit a breeze.

cool video and good to see you guys offering their stuff. Unfortunately that video is for their top tier Dinantronics system with the full warranty package, not the Dinantronic sport. So, for education purposes and to shine a light on all the stuff they do, cool video but definitely not what sport is about or what the sport unit is based on what I have.

Also confusing is the fact that the Dyno Plot shown is not even for the Mercedes 2.0L motor. It's for a BMW diesel!!!
We're the actual Mercedes graph?

Wow. Definitely true. That is the graph they have for the C300 tune seen here:

I just asked to see if they have a graph for the C300.

Not to sound like a nay-sayer, since I just bought one of these, but their graph is stating that the car is underrated from the factory and they measured 309ft-lbs of torque. As much as i'd love to believe that I have a hard time believing they saw a ~30ft-lb difference. When I get mine I will try to get an appointment on an all wheel drive dyno nearby to post some numbers.

Again, I bought one so i'm not crapping on them, i'm just saying I don't believe that dyno is accurate.

Yes indeed i'm looking at the right one. It says "C300: Factory HP/TRQ - 241/273 (235/309 Measured)". So they're saying the stock 2015 vehicle dynoed at 36ft-lbs over the rated torque. That's basically saying they underrated the engine by 13%. I just have a hard time believing that. In a separate post ont this forum Terry over at BMS dynoed a RWD C300 at 211hp/262ft-lbs. I'd be more inclined to think the dinan dyno is not accurate.

well dyno's do vary quite a bit. A dynapack vs. a mustang dyno can vary ALOT in terms of performance readings. crank measurement vs wheel measurement also comes into play how each might be doing it or interpreting vs. what is the factory actually doing on their end?>
the unit is pretty good and I'm happy with it. Power is definitely there and for the price you cant go wrong.. enjoy!

Well yes, that's entirely true that dynos can and do vary but my point is even if they're using crank numbers vs. bhp/tq they should be stating that to make the numbers apples to apples. So let's say they're measuring from the crank, they're still 13% higher than the official MB rating, which is also SAE net (i.e. from the crank) and that seems highly unlikely (but i'll admit not impossible). If they're measuring from the wheels then I basically have to discard their data entirely because that would mean much higher than a 13% underrating to account for losses through the drivetrain in order to actually make 309ft-lbs of torque at the wheels when the car is only rated at 273ft-lbs at the crank. Either way the numbers don't make sense.
It is not entirely impossible that Mercedes underrated their vehicles. In fact, it happens quite often (Cadillac CTS V-Sport is another example).

Ferrari has been one of those manufacturers that have been know to show the opposite (either they have a way higher drivetrain loss or they inflate their numbers).

So by posting the number they actually saw on their dyno, then posting the results of their modifications on their dyno, I would argue that you are comparing Apples to Apples.
Therefore, I wouldn't discount the accuracy of the numbers. They do make sense. I would, again, cop this up to underrating of power by the manufacturer. It's not something unheard of.

I would have to disagree. The dyno is a measurement tool and different types of dynos read HP & TQ slightly differently than others. In fact, some dynos allow you to put in a "correction factor" that allows you to correct numbers to read what they're supposed to (or essentially, it allows you to make the numbers WHATEVER YOU WANT).

Does anyone know if this is really undetectable by the dealers once removed? I have been looking for an easy to install unit like this but I am very nervous about mods due to the number of issues I have had with my car and the fact that I have a 6yr certified warranty. Thanks for any input.
#25
I have spoken w MB mechanics and yes it is detectable. They can trace it back to see where the engine exceeded design parameters, which means something was done to the engine. Then the engine warranty is void. If you seriously damage the engine you are looking at about 20K in repair out of your pocket. I will assume Dinan and the others will not cover your repairs. Ask them.
