Garmin SD card not updating
I am having a problem downloading the latest Garmin maps using the MB download manager.
The update downloads fine but just hangs there with the word Activating instead of a picture of planet earth on the right hand side. If I come out and start again I get a message that I did not complete the update. Has anyone got a fix as the problem is with the activation and not the download.

No it came with the car as it was part of the spec. I have done a couple of updates but not since last February. I am assuming this would be covered by the cars 3 year UK warranty but I will contact MB first to see if they have an answer before I contact a dealer as it is a pain having to drop it off.

there may be a glitch with the program but from the looks of it, your card looks updated to the latest update.
it states that the SD card "software: V6.0 SW 28.24, Build 16/23.00" ( below the image of the map) a
and your current available download is software: V6.0 SW 28.24, Build 16/23.00. which is the exact version you have currently operating on the SD card already. I think your getting an error trying to update cause there really is not an update.

The software version updated but not the maps. The manager keeps telling me that an update is available and that I don't complete it.
I have a junction to a motorway that was replaced by an underpass 2 years ago that still does not appear and a new major road that still shows me crossing a field and that road was completed nearly 3 years ago.
My portable Garman that has free updates for life shows all these improvements and has done so for over a year now.

Just to update everyone I used a different PC and it was fine BUT the maps are still 2 years out of date.
I contacted MB and wanted to know why I am driving a car where I have had to go back to my portable Garman for long journeys which shows more recent changes with its 4 free updates per year for life rather than my built in Garman that hasn't been updated since 9th Feb 2016 and still doesn't show roads that were completed in early 2015. Their answer was it has nothing to do with them as it is third party supplied. I pointed out that most of the cars parts are third party supplied and I wasn't happy with their answer. I was then told to contact my dealer. Yeah OK, I am guessing they will say contact MB.

Well mercedes has a good point. That is not their product and they are not in control of updates. They are only extending (out sourcing) a gps product to their product to save on cost. Youcant expect mercedes to call up garmin and say "Hey! Luton Driver is not getting his updates, Fix it !
Most of their parts are 3rd party supplied but come with a supplier warranty they can, and do extend to us, their customer. There is not a warranty on updates, from my understanding. contact garmin division that handles the mercedes maps about their lack of content, not Mercedes - the car manufacture

I got lucky and my dealer replaced my card under warranty when I told them it would not update. They tried to update it too but couldn't. Before that I called MBUSA and they referred me to the Garmin OEM folks who told me to contact MBUSA.
