Sorry, I know I'm not your mother, and you probably don't appreciate this, but quit modifying your car. In fact, I would go as far to say, sell your Mercedes, and buy something more practical for your budget.

Sorry, but people over-extending themselves bugs the hell out of me. Especially when it's on something as vain and depreciative as an automobile.
So it never occurred to you that I was joking, mom? especially with that laughing icon? And even if I wasn't joking, so what? I'm not allowed to modify my car if I'm not rich and have money to throw around?

Do you have DIY to retrofitting LED to ILS with all the parts?

Hey Huyuci,

Did I miss something in one of the vids? Is the flicker/strobe another mod you slipped in or is it an issue with the voltage regulator?

BTW, you're a **********in' wizard

Hey Mr. J. Thank you for your comment I think it just takes a lot of patience and a will to make it work. Btw, the ILS headlight interior is much more complicated. There are even cooling fans and the bulbs are completely sealed off.

About the flickering, all LEDs are like that. They all flicker in video. My guess is they refresh the light at a high frequency that our naked eyes can't see. Check out this bmw video. You'll see the same flickering at 0:58.

I see that you posted your comment offering help all over the board, but have not yet seen your "DIY". If you're for real, why don't you just post it here for everyone to see.

Thanks for that info, I wasn't aware of that. Now I'm curious why. I see a research rabbit hole in my near future

LOL. I agree. He went thru different sub-forums and posted the exact same thing. Yet, he had no time to post pics. Geez, I wonder why.
At the very least, please don't claim to be an expert of anything. Let people be the judge of that. It sounds so effing arrogant.

+1

Post the DIY and be the hero, or you sound like a bragging kid.

The other guy was asking for a DIY, which means some instruction that he can follow. And all you do is to throw out a pic, after you're asking if people need help because you're such an expert. If you were going to brag, then just brag, man. But don't give people false hope just so you could feel important.

You can clear coat them to provide resistance to oxidation.

I think you're right. But they have a lot of scratches. So, i guess it wasn't much of s choice. Besides, I may be switching to Model 3 in the near future. So, longevity is not a concern. I don't know. Hopefully my "mom" will approve for me to trade in for a Model 3. I already bugged the heck out of "mom" because "mom" thought I was over extending myself

Just give them 3 coats of rattle can clear coat and a day to cure. If you see any obvious imperfections give them a wet sand and then lightly buff to polish.

You've already done all of the hard stuff. This part is a cakewalk. If you don't want to pull the lights again you can mask them right on the vehicle with contractor bags or plastic sheeting. Just make sure that you cut and tape carefully if you do it on the car.

Of course, it won't be able to move like the real thing. I just want them to light up. Nothing fancy. I just don't know if the look is worth it. I found one pair on Ebay for just $150. Would you pay $150 just to get the look of the ILS?
Hey, Really Need your helppp! I am having a W205 c class and looking to change my headlights from static LED to ILS LED Headlights. I want to ask whether did you code the car program system after you install the headlights or your just plug and play? and did you install a separate ventilator for each headlights?

Hi mate.. got a bit of an issue..not sure if you can help me here.. I bought a car that had been in a bit of a front bump.. turns out the ILS had been retrofitted. Both main headlamps and full beams work but on the left side, the drl lights up really dim and the indicator doesn't work. I see there is one cable that has been cut thats been pulled over from the other side so maybe that has something to do with it? Thanks.
