C450 Tune - AMR vs OE Tuning

Hello,

Just wanted get get some opinions on these 2 companies that offer ECU tuning (stage 1&2) for the C450. Who's has the AMR tune and their thoughts and who's using OE tuning and their thoughts.

Thanks,

Both have members that have run low 12s... go with whats closer to you or cheaper if you care about price.

I'd look up as many detailed reviews as you can find. HP and TQ increases are only part of the equation. The biggest numbers do not always equal the best for daily driving.

I've got the AMR tune, couldn't be happier. Let me know if you have any questions.

OE stage 2 here. LOVE IT!

I did extensive research (and pestering of each company) on both before making my decision. It came down to price and who was closer. Retail price is pretty close but I got a holiday special for $800. So with that, I got the tune and downpipes for the same price as I would have spent for JUST the AMR tune.

Both are pretty much Even-Steven.

AMR's stage 1 yields more power than OE's stage 1.

AMR's stage 2 is only 10-15 HP/TQ higher than their stage 1 due to "the aggressiveness of our stage 1 tune"

OE's stage 2 tune puts the car right between AMR's stg 1 & stg 2 (From what I have concluded from the evidence but no proof or numbers on this)

Can't go wrong with either and I doubt one is better than the other.

One thing is for sure, this car screams now!

I did a bunch of research as well on both and agree with Sean on all counts. AMR was only a 2+ hr drive away, so that was the winning factor for me...I REALLY didn't want to remove my ECU and ship it back and forth across the country.

The tune also completely eliminated that little herky-jerky downshift when in slow traffic jams, which was a nice bonus!

Did you have a jerk on upshifts in slow traffic and C mode? There is software for this.

I have the AMR stage 2 with Weistec DPs and AWE tuning race exhaust it's a totally different car now no more Dips in the power-band, shifts better and so on, I also now have the exhausts pops that I didn't have with my stage 1 tune from OE. I also ran a 12.1 and 12.2 at the track my first time there. Highly recommend AMR if you want the most for your bang for your buck!

Holy hell brother, your car must be insanely loud!

DP's on my stock exhaust make this car scream like a banshee, I can't imagine having AWE's race exhaust on

Please have your friends contact us directly. We did not see any burble lost on cars we tested and feedback we received from customers......

I have the Stage 1 OE tune. What do I need to get it to stage 2? I am local and can bring the car in.
Total cost?

Downpipes.

They'll probably charge ya a small up-flash fee of like $100 or something.

It's not a huge power increase, but it is a huge noise increase. I highly recommend it for that aspect alone

Do you need the downpipes? Which downpipes and cost please? Also do you feel a performance bump from stage 1?

OE is absolutely tops in my book! Jeremy and Rocco are great! Took my bone stock C400 from a 13.20 to a 12.20 @ 116.89mph with just the stage 1 tune! Oh, and being a C400, it's the quietest 12 sec car around! Lol!
