Do mud flaps help with dirt from road on rainy day?
I notice that after driving on a rainy day a significant amount of road dirt gets kicked up and settles around the lower half of the car from the front wheels back and the most of the dirt and debris seems to collect at the interface between the trunk lower lip and the rear bumper. ( from rear license plate down). Will adding mud flaps help ?

Stone guards
I considered mud flaps, and I recall that MBUSA states that the purpose of mud flaps is to "help protect your vehicle from debris, rocks and spray kicked up by the tires." (Mud flaps | $190) While "spray" is indeed mentioned, the verb is "protect." "Stone guards" or "rock shields" would be more descriptive terms. A mud flap would have to span the entire rear of the vehicle (as seen on some motor homes) to prevent spray and dirt from accumulating around the license plate. Not too sporty!

I have to agree with poster #7 . The C300 seems to be worse than other cars I have owned for collecting road debris and dirt from the rear license plate downwards. I guess I have to live with it , its just not fun to clean it off during the winter months in the NW where it rains most days.
