I just happened to record a video of Park Assist in action yesterday. The car is a MB C250 AMG Line 2014:

Sorry, it's in Bahasa Indonesia.

By default, it looks for parking space on the left (passenger) side when you drive slowly. Turn on the right signal to look for the right (driver) side parking space.

<P (P & left arrow) indicates there is an empty parking space on the left side (or P> on the right side).

Switch gears to R, press OK on the steering wheel, and follow the prompts. Adjust the accelerator & brake as required. You can abort the process at any time.
