PASSENGER AIR BAG indicator lamp
Hi All,
I read the manual, but not clear exactly.
“The PASSENGER AIR BAG OFF indicator lamp may be lit continuously or be off.”
If passenger seat is empty the lamp shows the OFF symbol, if somebody seats there then shows ON?
Thanks,
Mark

It's to show if you've disabled the passenger air bag or not, rather than if anyone's sitting in the seat.
You'd disable the air bag if you've got a baby seat in the passenger seat - although I'm not sure anyone would anymore as the ISOFIX fittings are on the rear seats...

What happens with your vehicle if you disable the airbag?

If passenger seat is empty, the OFF to be lit continuously, if sit there somebody, then the ON to be lit continuously, so the indicator lamps never go out...what I'd expect, and our A class do after few seconds...

It should be lit continuously, either ON or OFF showing depending on circumstance. It's possible the youtube videos were cars in other countries/markets where programming may be different.
