MB in mass recall due to fire risk

If you didn't see a multi-step ReCaptcha script for security, the mbusa.com website doesn't like your browser. It would not work in my usual browser (Opera) or even in Internet Explorer. (I thought everything worked in IE.) It did work for me on Google Chrome. Surely, mbusa.com realizes that only a minority of people use Google Chrome. So it may have something to do with JavaScript. Both of Opera and IE browsers on my computer have trouble with JavaScript. So make sure JavaScript is turned on your computer.
Is there an additional validation step that I'm not seeing?

If you meant that all you saw of the ReCaptcha process was an "I am not a robot" check box, it's not working. It is a multi-step process in which you have to respond to several screens. Maybe Internet Explorer will work for you. How about Edge (if you have Windows 10)? Or is this another Mac thing? Anyone?

Out of curiosity decided to check out the recall page and it turned out that there's a recall on my car/VIN number. What am I supposed to do now?

Here in the UK I booked by car in for an unrelated matter and they said they needed to have a look at the fusebox while they had it.
Don't know if they did anything but I thought at the time about the recall.

Does anyone know which fusebox do they access for this fix -- the one in front or the one in the back, under the trunk? I just got the notification that parts are ready, and am scheduled to take the car in.
Wondering whether I needed to clear stuff from the trunk, and remove the Power Magic Pro for my dashcam (ie the device that was described in https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...e-install.html)

Recall fix
While I had some unrelated problem fixed at my dealer, they also fixed the recalled fuse, a couple days ago. So, I guess here in Canada the parts are already available.
I don't know which fuse and where it is located.

It's an additional fuse, not a replacement of an existing part. It goes right on the positive battery terminal under the hood, on the power wire that feeds the starter.

Got a letter from MBUSA a few days ago telling me the parts are now available. I'll call my dealer this week and make an appointment.

Overall - this is a very/very/very low risk recall - meaning no customer cars have "burned up" and frankly I don't know of any car in the US that has had any problems - yet.
The "part's" have been available up to now in very tight quantity to dealers - so as quantities ramp up MBUSA is sending out 2nd stage "come-in-for-the-fix" in staggered waves - I don't know how MBUSA is prioritizing how each wave is prioritized.
As I-Joe points out - the fix takes about 10 mins actual shop time under the hood.

Either way, her insurance totalled it.

C200 Coupe AMG
I've got the 2017 coupe and I have had one instance of the car not starting as it should. Got the car last July and it now has about 2K miles. About three wees ago, I pressed the starter and absolutely nothing...no sounds (like clicking), just nothing. I tried a few more times, and nothing. Then after about the 4th or 5th time, the car started...BTW, no fire (LO). Never brought this to the attention of the dealership as the issue seemed to self-correct. Anyway, since that one instance, have not had problems starting the car. Nonetheless, I fully expect a recall letter any day. Also, maybe our coupes aren't involved as the starter problems seem to be coming from the US and our cars were made in Germany...
might want to check yours since the letter also mentions w253 GLC and w213 E class produced during 2016 and 2017
scheduling with the dealership next week for them to pick it up

A couple of weeks ago, my neighbor got his recall notice and brought his late July 2015 build date 300 to the dealer for the repair. They had his car for about an hour and said no fuse replacement was necessary and sent him on his way! Go Figure.
