UK Speed Camera GPI file
Hi,
Can someone post a copy of the GPI file for UK speed cameras?
added on 31/03/2017:
I found a free website www.POIPlaza.com which you can download by category "speedcam" and pick GB (UK). It may not be as updated as other fee-paying service but it is good enough for me and free. I found 5 types of speed camera for the UK. Download as Garmin CSV files, unzip and use Garmin POILoader to create the GPI file. Make sure you select Feet/MPH option for the UK. Copy to POI folder on the SD card. I will give it a test drive tonight.

According to https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...map-pilot.html, the gpi filename needs to contans "camera" or "redlight" to have alert. Don't know how true this is.
I put the SD card back into the car. I cannot find any POI category, nor I found the camera nearby my home. I can see the coordinates of the camera in the csv file.
Any idea, anyone?

Just tried it on the road. I have the warning and the quiet bing-bing but cannot see the icon on the map. I have changed the bmp file to 24x24 pixels with 256 colours. Still it doesn't show the icon on the map.
Interesting reading how to customise your POI file: http://www8.garmin.com/products/poil..._poi_files.jsp
All seems fine but the icon still not showing on the map.

My attempt is similar, no icon on the map.
I do get an alert (in what appears to be Chinese) and the bing-bong 0.2 miles away from the reported camera.
I will have another try tonight as I must have done something wrong.

Mine is working expectedly except the 24x24 icons not shown in map. I have a red bar with the name of camera appears at top if my speed is higher than the limit. A generic icon later appears in the top left corner as I drive past the camera. I admit it will be better if it show exact location of the camera in the map. However, it does the trick and I am pleased with the result.

I combined two csv files in mine, that may have been a mistake.
One for permanent and one for mobile. It reports a lot of camera's that are not there, but used to be or are temporary.
I just get the camera names in Chinese.
I can send the csv's when I get home.

All,
I have just clarified with Brad Wiseman (Garmin) regarding the missing icon. As soon as he heard I am using Mercedes Map Pilot, he said Mercedes had requested them to disallow any customised icon in the map.
Brad's exact words (2017-04-03):
"Preventing the addition of user-supplied icons to the map display was one of the things they [Mercedes] required and Garmin was asked to remove that capability. You can still use Custom POIs but you can't add icons to the map display."

Maybe if we can find non custom icons, these can be used to display something!
Retesting a new POI/gpi file tomorrow.
I had 2 custom POI's maybe this caused an issue

I think I have got everything working as expected. According to Garmin, Mercedes doesn't allow their software to display icons so I have given up to display the icons.
