Wheel well plugs recall? Campaign #2016030010???

There was a campaign done on my car for "Wheel well plugs". I'm trying to figure out what this was all about. Looks like they replaced part # 003-998-63-50 which is like a $1.50 part. I believe the campaign number is 2016030010. But I can't find any information on it.

Can anyone help shed some light?

Doesn't sound like anything to worry about. There's a plastic shield that lines the wheel wells. The plug is likely a plastic cover that conceals a mounting screw. Maybe defective and letting water in behind the shield or something along those lines.

Actually, the plug itself isn't what I'm worried about. I'm worried about making sure that they put everything back correctly or that they did the job right in the first place... So i'm trying to figure out what part of the car they were working on.

Call your SA and ask them what was done. Or take a flashlight and inspect the fender linings yourself. Not much on a plastic fender lining to screw up.

They're little plastic retainers that snap the fender lining onto the car.

The logical thing would be to ask the SA what is going to be done when dropping the vehicle off and then asking again as a follow up when you pick the vehicle up. My local dealership will have the technician explain what they did if I ask for more details.

It's hard living in the first world sometimes.

Funny that you mention me asking the SA. That's the first thing that I did. After a "shoulder shrug" from her and the statement of, "sounds like something from the wheel well", I figured she was master of the obvious but not detail. I had to get out of there before she got a chance to irritate me.

Yeah come to think of it my SA is generally clueless as well. Virtually any issue with my car can be traced somehow to the aftermarket wheels. But he will call the tech up front to explain stuff if I ask him to.

Those wheels caused you to get rear ended even though they hadn't been fitted until after the event Mike...

That's how crappy those wheels are. Seriously though when I complained there was a hop in the rears after they mounted them they thought it was probably the offset. Actually they totally missed balancing one.
