The interior light switches are tiny, and the logos are so dimly lit that I have to look at them to select the one I want. That means I have to take my eyes completely off the road. They are also too close to the MBRACE buttons. I have accidentally called MBRACE twice.
My wife's 2008 Hyundai Elantra has a single light bar over the center console, about 1 1/4" x 4". It has three sections - left, middle, and right. You push on the section or sections of the light bar you want lit - no separate switches! You can find them easily, without taking your eyes off the road. Same with the overhead light for the rear seats. It is centered in the overhead, between the front seats. Occupants of both the front seats and rear seats can reach it. Again, they just push on the light fixture itself.

The remote start system on the W205 is useless. It only runs the engine for 10 minutes before shutting down (that's IF you can get it to work at all), it doesn't save your last climate settings (U.S. models), and it doesn't activate the heated outside mirrors, rear window defroster element, nor the heated driver's seat.
It only starts the engine...useless...

I miss the rest function. They do not put it on USA cars anymore. I had it on my previous cars. It was nice. I also wish the remote start worked better.

The universe of humor is forbidden. Funny, though, my love of Mercedes started in 1965 with a lovely white 190sl with tan leather and two tops. I've owned many high performance cars since, but always come back to MB. Their worst is usually better than others' best.

sadly not my experience with the w205, I can't waste huge sums of money on another MB, 50% deprecation at year 3 and full of design and quality issues that I've never experienced from other manufacturers.

Yes, well, maybe five decades is too broad. The absolute worst car I ever owned was a new 1970 Jaguar E type, 4.2 liter.
It would not hold fluids, even the removable hard top leaked like a seive, the wheels weren't round and its value, at the time, rightly fell like a rock.

I've never really had a "bad" car. They've all been what they were and other than regular maintenance, only a few issues here and there between the lot.
This Benz is exceeding my expectations in almost every way. I never would have considered a Mercedes a decade ago, but I feel as they have really gotten back to their roots as of late and are developing the best automobiles in their respective segments and for their prices. I'm still an Audi fanboy, but MB is winning me over with each day

It just bugs me the W205 is SOOOOOO close to being just about perfect. Mercedes would only have to correct a handful of obvious issues to make the car the absolute top of it's class.

I bought a new w205 and I returned because it was a sport without a sport suspension, and luckily the dealer let me swap it out. In fact, my dealership is awesome which is another reason I stayed loyal to MB.
I have the same annoying complaints like the rattles, crap Burmester stereo (why they removed the mid out of the door for a cup holder makes no sense), no spare, cant turn off eco start or leave in sport, remote start shuts off when unlocking vehicle. But those I can live with.
The standard run flats are one of my biggest gripes. It feels like a tire is always out of balance (yes, had them all re-balanced and was told they ride rough.) I even lost traction on the freeway this weekend going around a bend at 80 MPH and it wasn't wet. I am swapping those next week with the Pilot AS 3+. I know this will help but sucks that the first thing I have to do is drop 1200 on tires on a 50k vehicle to make the vehicle run safe and ride smooth.
One thing I noticed no one talks about is the braking. My w204 used the rear brakes better and the vehicle never pitched forward when stopping. This one seems to use too much front brake causing the vehicle to lean forward similar to american cars with rear drum brakes. Not sure if the brakes are tuned incorrectly or due to poorly balanced chassis. It's noticeably bad and now one more thing I will have to fix/tune (if possible).
Hopefully after getting new tires I will like to drive it on the highway. I am surprised at the build quality. Never expected MB to go cheap on many parts.
Still not a bad car but for the money, I think there are some competitive/better options. Drove an Audi S4 the other day and was impressed.
