Name the things that REALLY bugs you about your W205, be it shortsightedness on Mercedes' part, or just something the bean counters should have included. Here are my main complaints...

1) Run Flat Tires - Mercedes needs to wake up and realize a lot of people HATE run flat tires. At least make conventional tires a choice like BMW does. I'd gladly pay extra for a spare/jack option.

2) Useless Remote Start - Just having the ability to remote start the vehicle is not enough...on a cold start scenario, the rear defroster & the heated outside mirrors should activate as well...the heated driver's seat turning on would be nice too. Look at the Grand Cherokee, you know, the vehicle that stole a bunch of Mercedes Benz parts when Daimler owned Chrysler.

3) Nickle & Diming the Customer on Options - Really Mercedes, the auto-opening trunk and ventilated seats (with leather) should have come standard with the vehicle. To charge a couple hundred for each option is an embarrassment. Remember your slogan "The Best or Nothing".

4) COMAND and Other Software Glitches/Shortfalls - Who designed the software in the W205, a retarded monkey? Why can't I lock the doors when the vehicle is running? I can with other vehicles that have added the extra sensor to detect the FOB if it's inside the car. Why when I switch to NAV or the weather map does it always start at the WHOLE continental U.S.? I could go on in this area, but I'll let others chime in.

1. Lack of odometer on main screen. A blank space is there, but you have to scroll to see the odometer.
2. Lack of logical warnings on screen ... like a simple "door open," or "trunk open" warning.
3. Fobs not linked to car's memory settings.

A few other minor nuisances, but those are my big three.

The real affront is the way they keep all of that stuff secret until after you buy the thing.

I'd also add:


Audio/visual indications for parking sensors could be greatly improved (see Volvo implementation)

Lied to about CarPlay will be an update in early 2016.
Lied to about Mercedes apps (Mbrace or whatever) will available in Canada by early 2016.

Good one Stan, I just thought of another. Since trading up to my C450, the gear number is no longer displayed next to the "D" like my 2015 C300 had. I miss that.

I also wish the compass was displayed in the center console as well. It's hard to see it in the upper right-hand corner of the center dash display.

No door ajar warning - Why the hell do I have to drive away before knowing theres a door thats not closed properly???

Low Fuel Warning - When the low fuel warning comes on, it no longer displays how much distance you can drive before being out of fuel. Whats the point???

Still love the car very much but these are 2 things that I find very irritating

Not being able to use the wipers with water , for cleaning my windshield.

I dont understand why it doesn't close when I walk away but now it's become natural for me to close it .

Can you elaborate on the wipers? Are you talking about using water as the wash fluid or are you thinking it doesn't have the spray feature at all? If it's the second, press harder!

Radio volume doesn't automatically lower when starting car.

Yeah, you're only pressing to the detent. Press it all the way to get the spray!

I second this. I always forget to turn down the radio when I get out of the car. Even when you start pressing the volume down before the radio starts it doesn't register. Guess it's my fault but still an annoyance.

The standard speakers are ****. does anyone know how to upgrade to a better speaker? also the ambient light only offers three colors they could have added a bit more and made it brighter. also, the infotainment system is **** compared to BMW or Audi

Yes, really hate the lack of customization for certain features. We're in 2017, these things should be a reality for such a "high end" brand such as MB.


REMOTE START:

-Not having the car shut off when you unlock/get in.
-Not being able to adjust and set the seat heater, defroster, climate control. I mean, isn't these things the entire reason for having such a feature?

Not being able to save drive mode settings so I don't have to adjust all of this EVERY F##KING TIME I GET IN THE CAR!

It's not the speakers. They're not anything special but the problem is with the factory EQ, and the lack of any actual mid bass drivers in the cabin. Fix the EQ ( a $2 phone app works fine) and put a small powered sub in the trunk and you'll enjoy the car's audio. (Full write up in my sig).

No fix for the three color LED. That's all there is in the 205. The 222 and 214 get multicolor.

I've had the MidCity Ecostop for a couple of weeks and I love it. Puts the car in whatever mode you want every time you start the car. Definitely worth $150 and install took about 15 minutes.

As far as high end, the C isn't really the brand's show piece for its capabilities as a builder. It's sort of a mid-pack commodity car. Look to the S Class if you want to see what they can do when the budget isn't a big issue. Those six figure buyers are really the only ones Mercedes wants to blow away. That's the true "high end".

The thing is, for the price of a new C450 you could have a CPO S Class or CL Class. Prior to the C I had three consecutive S Class and while I love the little C, there's absolutely no comparison. S/CL are some next level ****. It's like the C is built by a different company.

It's an annoyance, but not a $150 annoyance


If it did all of those things that I mentioned, then I would certainly be down to buy it!
