Who makes the best street exhaust for the C450?

Hey guys,

I decided to get a street exhaust for the C450. I currently have the OE tune and want a better sound when driving. I dont want a track exhaust that will drone all around town and the highway.

What is recommended for this car and any ideas on lead time?

Thank you in advance!!

I thought it was only a factory option during build.

That is what I thought too. Can only get the AMG performance exhaust when being built, dealers won't do it afterwards.

There are a couple of vendors on here that have posted links to their exhaust systems :dunno:

Maybe instead get an AEM cold air intake but don't forget to add the AEM sticker on the window because it adds 10hp.

I would love it but I do not think I can make it work on my car. Plus this is more about a good sound track when driving then power.

Just order the AWE Touring system. Anything else means you overpaid.
AMG Performance exhaust is not for the c450 and will require wiring, buttons, and programming not on our car. GTHaus, Armytrix, Brabus, and Supersprint are all cost prohibitive.
I have been threatening to spring for the AWE Touring for... a year? Yes it is a year already. Life happens, but at $1200 AWE Touring is the way to go.

Put some downpipes in and upgrade to stage 2 software!

Hardly a noticeable difference when driving casually but when you step on it in "S+" mode it is quite the noisy beast

Sorry, $1400, no tax, free shipping for the Touring, $995 for the Track setup (no resonators). Use the Google and don't pay retail. AWE distributors offer a discount. The Touring setup is still a score at that price, and the only reason I havent pulled the trigger yet is because I'm cheap, and I get into this non-stop loop: Well this is $1400 and its perfect, but the Track is under a thousand dollars, but what if it's too loud, well I can always buy the resonators later, but then I will have paid more than the Touring from the get go, but then I have 2 systems in 1, but I really didn't want to pay that much, maybe it will go on sale for $1200 and I'll buy it then! Yup, thats where that $1200 # came from... and it hasn't gone on sale for that price yet.

Does the AWE Touring exhaust drone at 70-80mph? Or in any specific RPM range?

The C43 I test drove had the cracks and pops, but the sales person told me it didn't have the exhaust. I ended up getting one without the the exhaust, and my car sounds nothing like the car I test drove ... so now searching for an exhaust.

Anyone in Socal have the AWE Touring exhaust? I'll buy you lunch in exchange for a ride to see how it sounds like.

Edit: Can AMG PE be installed/retrofitted after purchase?

I ordered the AWE touring exhaust 10 days ago at the end. Just thought I'd pull the trigger and not think of it too much!

yeah I just did it and quickly pulled the trigger and ordered it through Sean at TAG motorsports who got me a good deal on it. Can't wait to hear the difference! For me it was either that or just go completely insane and buy the Quadrofiglio but just too terrified with the reliability!

Congrats, seems like a good choice from what I've seen online. Looking forward to hearing it!
