Try fuse 113. This turns it on only when the lights are on, and (I believe) the ignition is in the operating (not accessory) position. It's apparently also controlled by the light sensors that turn on the headlamps, because my aftermarket star does not appear to illuminsate during the daytime. Hope this helps.
Any thoughts on what fuse/wire I could tap into for them turning on only at night/darkness/low light when the lights come on?

I plugged mine in to Fuse 113 but it stays on the entire time the ignition is switched on. If you have a W205, you will need to use a specific type of harness - PN# A1178200300. Place harness end piece into slot 107. Should work like a charm.

Well that is if you have the OEM Star. The aftermarket Star usually comes with the harness already attached to the start itself and there is no way you can take it off and attach this harness. However good tip from you for those not wanting to pay an arm and a leg in labor after they buy the OEM Star.

I purchased the OEM illuminated star and the wiring harness you mentioned.
Is there any guide on how to properly attach them to slot 107? Where can i find slot 107?
I am sorry for the dumb questions.
I just got the car, its a 2019 C300 4matic. I wanted the illuminated star but it was not available on any of the models for sale in my area.
