I'm pretty sure it gets registered to the VIN of the vehicle (1-time use). I'd love to buy it from you if I'm wrong though!!

Yes it gets attached to the VIN of the car. I've done a little bit of research on this and there are ways to make it a "virgin" card again but you have to have had a backup from before you paired it.
