New to Mercedes. Looking for advice/opinions on C400

I currently own a 2006 Civic for daily duty. I bought it for its reliability and it has not disappointed me once. However after having owned it for 12 yrs, I am looking to move on to something a bit more refined and faster. The Civic is deadly slow, so it gotta go, eventually, until I find a replacement. It has to have 6-cyl, auto, 4WD preferable. I have been looking at accord EX-L touring, Acuras, BMWs, Audi S4 and I haven't seen one that I really like both inside and out. Not interested in Lexus, despite its very reliable status. Many people rave about Audi interior but I personally think it's ugly, esp the steering wheel, not to mention Audi sketchy reliability. I didn't know the C400 existed until I decided to look at Mercedes. I have no interest in C250/300 but when I came across a 2015 C400 on Carmax, I immediately think, "daddy likes" !! Subtle but not boring exterior and beautiful interior, esp the steering wheel. I know i can't expect Honda readability from a Mercedes but I can live with that.

What should I look out for when I look for a C400? any particular year? problematic area? has it stranded owners on the side f the road for any reasons? Any advice when looking for one?
Thanks guys!!

I got a hand me down January 2015 production of C300 4matic last month so not exactly the same as C400 but similar. The issues:

1) coolant/oil smell in the cabin with window/pano roof open. Dealer "will monitor" this. Probably go nowhere with them. I have to run the AC with the recirculate all the time to not smell anything. Thinking for getting "Philips GoPure Compact 200 Car Air Purifier".
2) been reading about others experiencing noises associated with wrist pin issue. I'm starting to pay attention to this and think I may have this issue but not 100% sure.

Except for the above, this car is really fun to drive with loads of technology. It handles and is faster than my 2006 Acura TL. Good luck on finding your C400!

A gaggle of MB's
I believe "wrist pin" issue can come up with early C300's - I personally am not aware of it in C400..

Good luck with your C400 search. I just bought one looking forward to picking it up Wednesday. It’s a 2015 33k mile CPO, paid $30k plus taxes, license, etc.

Have you driven either a C300 or C400? I went into my car search with the same initial thought, "I need at least a 6 cylinder and I'm not interested in the 300's...". Long story short, after a few test drives I purchased a C300 4matic.
There have been one or two times I wish it was a bit faster, but overall the torque and speed has been great for a daily driver. I may throw a piggyback onto it this summer, but all I can say is, "Don't knock it until you try it".

^^ so looks like the C400 is only available for 2015 and replaced by the C450 for 2016 and on.

Good luck! I drove the one I’m getting twice because I was surprised how much I liked it. Coming from BMW all I’d heard was MB are like boats , don’t handle, poor auto transmission etc...but I really liked the C400.

Yes, I love the power and smoothness of the powertrain, and the ride is very smooth and quiet compared to my old car (BMW 428GC M-Sport), but it doesn't handle as well as the BMW and it feels like the car is much bigger/higher.

I am very impressed with the build quality (3 year old car looks and feels like brand new), seats are great, but it is taking time to get used to all the controls after so many years with BMW. Interior is much, much nicer and I think the Burmeister stereo sounds better than Harmon/Kardon I had in the BMW.

Still getting used to the car but so far I like it a lot. 6 cylinders are so superior to even a good 4 like the 428.
