I think maybe they mixed up 2 recipients for 2 emails? Maybe yours was sent to someone else and someone else's was sent to you? Comical mistake though!

Probably outsourced support who mixed up messages. These folks operate out of developing countries and paid peanuts. No real desire to provide quality support.

Funny thing is that I used to own a smart car.

but I did respond to MB right away pointing out that their reply makes no sense and they never ever got back to me.

which someone from MB looks at this �� or it gets forwarded to someone at MB who actually cares

Not sure about your dealer but here in Toronto, when I take my car for service or for anything else, there is usually a service advisor assigned to me. Any questions that may arise are directed to this advisor either by cell or email. This is the case with the three dealers around the Toronto area.

Hope you get a satisfactory outcome.

It doesn't matter who your dealer is if company doesn't stand behind their product even when covered by a factory warranty. As you can see, they responded with completely wrong answer and discontinued further convo on that topic.
