Funny thing is that I used to own a smart car.
but I did respond to MB right away pointing out that their reply makes no sense and they never ever got back to me.
which someone from MB looks at this or it gets forwarded to someone at MB who actually cares

Just use Google and check ratings they get from customers, for example: https://www.consumeraffairs.com/auto.../mercedes.html

Not sure about your dealer but here in Toronto, when I take my car for service or for anything else, there is usually a service advisor assigned to me. Any questions that may arise are directed to this advisor either by cell or email. This is the case with the three dealers around the Toronto area.

It doesn't matter who your dealer is if company doesn't stand behind their product even when covered by a factory warranty. As you can see, they responded with completely wrong answer and discontinued further convo on that topic.
