How long did your wrist pin repair take?

So I brought the car in 2 weeks ago for wrist pin repair, illuminated door handle repair and wiper replacement. It took dealership 3 Days to confirm wrist pin repair was needed. In those 3 days the door handles were fixed tho. Once wrist pin was confirmed I was told it would take a week which would of been this past Tues 4/10. 4/11 I was told they need another week. Now I’m starting to bug out a little that they may have fudged something up.

They said a week and a half then another three days, then after three days it was another 5, then they didn’t call until a week later to tell us it would take a day, which really was nearly three days. So three and a half weeks it took them.

I wouldn’t worry about them screwing something up (even though we were because it took them so long) because we put 300-400 miles on it and it’s very smooth, even more responsive, and the auto stop start is smoother than it was (still not good enough to keep it on). Anyway the tech said that some people who lease these things put 89 fuel and don’t respect the break in period, so it’s kinda a good thing to get it repaired just for the piece of mind. Also If you go to sell it, people would prefer to see the wrist pin repair as piece of mind that there’s nothing wrong with the engine.

Totally depends on the technician handling this repair. My technician has done so many of these repairs that he’s got it down to 18 working hours. Just reached 1000 miles today and the car is perfect.

Mine took about 2 weeks but they did other work and waited for parts so who knows how long the actual repair took. They said everything went well. I’ve put almost 2000 miles on it since and runs great.

Dropped it off on a Tuesday night, ready for pick-up the following Monday morning. That included the weekend for the tech to put 100 miles on it to confirm the repair.

Dropped off on Wednesday complaining about engine noise and foot the car back the following Thursday good as new. That was just a few days ago. Now I'm wondering about break in and whether the oil should be changed sooner due to the rebuild.

Mine was done a month ago and took just over a week. I had a check engine light come on after I got it back. That turned out to be the air intake line, which was replaced after another visit. Car has been running fine since.

OP here....thanks for all the responses. Just got my car back. My wrist pin repair took 2 weeks since parts were ordered. 25.5 hours were logged for the wrist pin repair. They also fixed 2 door handle lights and replaced wipers upon request. Looks like they heard some noise coming from L/R control arm joints which they also took care of. I took it easy on the 30 mile drive home. Feels and sounds smooth. Fingers crossed.

Congrats! My car is still at the dealer for other stuff to be fix, but I stop by on Monday after the wrist pin fix and the engine sounds better.

do you still get a weird tap or tick noise in morning when cold and driving only around 2k miles. Really light and can’t pick it up on camera. Dealer says it’s turbo waste gate rattle. But idk if it’s anything else they might have screwed up
