I purchased new tires and had them installed and balanced at the Dealership. Then I took the car to a local shop (Merchant’s) for Alignment. One the way back home, the car felt weird. It wasn’t driving Right. Everything that I run over like little holes in the road or anything causes the whole car to lose grip and move as if it was sliding. I took the car in today to have them fix it up or correct whatever they did, but I realized that in less than a week my new tires were very worn in the middle. Anyone know what caused this? Merchants is claiming that its suspension issue even though the dealership checked the suspension when they mounted and balanced the tires. Could incorrect/out of Spec alignment cause this? I wonder if they used specs for the W204 instead of W205 (2015 C300 4 Matic) The front tires are not overinflated, they are between 38 and 40 (While driving in 99°F Weather)
Brand new OEM Continental Cont...SSR5
Here’s the spec sheet that gave me. Idk if they used the W204 or W205 for reference. Also it says “AMG”. Anyone have the Alignment Spec Sheet for the 2015 C300 4Matic with 19” AMG Wheels?
What would cause this kind of Wear in less than 5 days? I don’t drive aggressively. The Tires were inflated by the delearship to what they’re supposed to be at. I have had this car since 2015 and never experienced anything like this before. I can’t keep Buying new tires every month (Nails, Explosions, Wear, Baldness...). These Continental Runflats are like Eraser rubbers, they last me less than 9,000 miles each time.

change to non-runflats. Out of curiosity, why would you buy tires at the dealership (and probably over pay for them) and then have an alignment done at a tire shop?

I bought the Tires at Tire Rack. I had a Runflat explode on me so I got the tire off of Tire Rack then had the Tire Mounted and balanced at the Dealership instead of Towing it from the Dealership to the shop. Also do I have to change all 4 or can I make the front axle/front 2 non-runflat?
Lol they have the wrong specs, they set 5 degrees of total toe in the front, that's crazy high. Should be about 1/10th that much or less. Totally a bad alignment, and now you need new tires.
They didn't even adjust the rear toe. Why didn't you have the dealer align it? That shop shouldn't be trusted to align cars if they thought that was a good idea.+
Looking at it, it looks like they plugged in a max value for the ride height. MB specs the values based on height. If you leave the height blank or go for a spec value, the toe and other values will be right. If you let the height value be that far out of range, it will give you other values for specs that are way out of range. Seems like that's what happened here. ****ty, but have it re-done by a competent alignment guy and replace the tires again. They didn't even do a caster sweep. Garbage alignment for sure.

You would have been fine WITHOUT an alignment, they literally went in and misaligned your car. I would be going to that shop and asking for a full replacement on the tires.
They gave you an alignment for a 2015 cla250 4matic. This is proven by the alignment report discription stated as a 117 which is actually w117 code for the cla hahaha. Go get your tires replaced by them and make sure they put the code for the new alignment as w205.

Aside from that, the ride height is where they messed up. A CLA toe setting isn't that far off from a C class, they just used the wrong values all around.
Ok so here's the Update! So my brand new tire went bald in 4 days. I took to to another Merchant's location and they had me take it back to the original shop that ****ed up my ****. I went to that place on the 4th of July, and I talked to their Iranian manager and he tried to feed me some bull**** about my suspension (Which I had the dealership check when I installed the wheel/tires the day before I went to this place for their unlimited 1 year alignments). He told me that my suspension was messed up and told me to go to the dealership to check it out. I went to the dealership, wasted a few hours there and then they laughed at how the shop spec'd my car. They said that not even a bulldozer would have that kinda toe. They told me to call Corporate. I went back to the Store with Proof of their **** up, but the guy started saying that since I did not buy the tires from him or install them there, he can't give me anything other than a refund for the alignment. When I talked to him I showed him proof of purchase from Tire Rack and proof of Installation at the dealership, and I had his spec sheet and right one from the dealership
He told me to take the refund and use it to pay the dealership for the proper alignment. The next day I went to another dealership and got the alignment done and I had written proof that the toe was off by 5 degrees and that it caused the wear and excessive damage. I called Corporate and they told me the exact same thing that The Iranian guy told me. I called the next day and I told them that I will be suing them for Damages due to Negligence and Breach of Contract/Duty (I paid them to do something and they ****ed it up). Along with Life Endangerment (He knowingly let me drive on that alignment and on tires that skipped and didn't grip)...I emailed them everything. I told them that I will be opening up a way for all the Bad Yelp reviews to sue them for the same thing (I noticed that many Yelpers were mad because they went in for something and Merchants ended breaking something else in the process)
Then an hour later when I was grilling outside, they called me 6 times until I answered and the district manager/CEO of that Corp decided to offer me a check for $600, which was what I paid for my tires from Tire Rack. I ended up getting Michelin Pilot Sport 4s (PS4S) for the front Axle. The car drives way better, its like I bought a completely different car. So far they handle really well and I don't feel everything on the Road like I did with the OEM Tires. Also Tire Rack covers them if they explode on me or if I run over a nail.

Thank you guys for your help!
GOOD FOR YOU BROTHER. I see a lot of griping on this board and no action. Glad everything worked out for you ,though you lost a lot of time with those morons. What shop was it that messed everything up ?I know Firestone has the unlimited alignments for the life of your car...
