What am I looking at ? I bought the wrong black ash console since I have no clock and got too lazy to return it so I feel like I gotta make it work .

Could you give me a little detail on what you did in the pictures?

Looks like they replaced the clock face with an AMG Badge. You can find those clocks on EBAY. Some start bidding pretty low in price but most are over $400. Why was the clock inactive?

Well as a lot of people I've bought the black ash console which comes with the analoge clock.
It's bought second hand, so I got the instruments as well.
From this forum, I've experienced that connecting the clock is a b****h if it is not already OEM installed.
Therefore I looked for a second best solution.

The emblem was quite cheap.

I've also ordered another non AMG badge that I want to fit instead. The fit is perfect.

Just curious could the clock be fixed or replaced? Or is that not possible?

As far as I know it needs to be connected to SAM and coded at a dealer

See this threat

Have you seen this? https://mbworld.org/forums/audio-electronics/662171-front-sam-wiring-diagram-w205-not-fuse-diagram.html
It's actually pretty easy to connect and works without dealer intervention.
Hope this helps and you can undo this questionable dyi.
