Need quick response for this DIY-Replace cabin filter

I do need to get this issue settled asap, so even though I've posted it on the W205 coupe forum (41 views, no replies, ugh!,) I'm also posting here with hopes of finding an answer.

It always happens to me whenever I do a DIY (as much of the B2 service I can do - oil/filter change and put in new dust filters; brake fluid flush to be done by my indy)...even a simple 10 minute job like replacing the interior cabin filter. You guys in the know will laugh at me when I tell what my problem is: I can't figure out how to unhook the cables. BTW, is it a must to also pull back the carpeting? I was able to pull the panel down without doing so. I will most appreciate a quick response as I've got bits and pieces in the passenger side footwell and would like to get on and finish the project as soon as possible. Here are two pictures of what needs to be unhooked and thanks.

Take a look at the Videos in this thread. I remember pulling down the carpeting a little bit.
Also, nice fish in your profile pic.

Yeah, that is my reference video. However, it really doesn't adequately show how to remove the cables. Just pulling as shown in the video doesn't do it. I don't want to force anything for fear of breaking something...and then big dollars to replace.

BTW, the fish is a peacock bass out of Brazil's Amazon region.

Ok so for the first photo I think I would try and twist the whole thing. If not, there might be a clip on the back side of clip.
For the 2nd photo all u have to do is press in where red circle is and pull clip out.

Hey Greek, thanks for your help. I will follow your leads and try to remove the cables. I do agree with your suggestion for the second plug, but not so sure about the first...but will try. Will let you know how things turn out later today.

Got the plug on the right side to pull out by depressing. However, the left side plug is not to be messed with too much. I've been told it is some kind of monitor; so no trying to twist out. I'm fairly certain that it should come out by depressing "something" and pulling straight out. I'll give it a shot tomorrow when it is cooler. Also, with the right side plug out, I may be able to position the the cover along the console, which may give me enough room to get the filter out???

Did you figure out what to do with the other plug?

Yeah, I just put a pliers over the top/bottom edge and gave a straight out yank, popper right out. No problem putting it back in.
