Smile New 2015 C400 Owner

Hi All,

Last week I picked up a CPO 2015 C400 46k miles, black on black. The previous owner had pre-paid the first 3-years of service maintenance, so well kept and great interior. Not many options, but that is ok. So far so good. Enjoying it so far and having fun learning all the stuff it does! Came from a '08 Infiniti G35xS (solid great car, but it was time for something else). And I owned VW's before that.
This is my first Benz, but I grew up with relatives having Mercedes from the 80's till current. Solid machines, but pricey to work on. Knowing this I opted for an extra 2-years of coverage. I'm good till 2022 for the powertrain and stuff.

Anyway, looking forward to many miles of enjoyment and reading the forum.

Nice delivery!

Congrats! I love my C300 but could use more power. Just stay ahead of issues by doing maintenance early and you should be fine!

Congratulations!!!

I bought a 2015 CPO C400 in March and I am very happy with it. It's a great car that I appreciate more with time.

The smooth power is more than enough for me, really accelerates well on those occasions you nail it, makes driving safer I find.

Enjoy it!

Overall been fine. But be aware I have only driven it about 8k miles as I work from home a lot. I would recommend a warranty though!
Engine and tranny are fine, very nice!!
I had the front glass piece forward of the sunroof replaced as it was stripping (common issue); covered under warranty.
Some roof rear squeaks and passenger headrest squeaks (replaced). they also lubed the sunroof tracks; covered under warranty.
Replaced a front disk due to noise in reverse; replaced under warranty.
Driver and passenger glass has wind noise. Supposedly the windows can be replaced for free?? But I haven't bothered as it doesn't really bother me.
I recommend a warranty overall for any used car; unless the price is insanely good.

I also upgraded from an 08 G35 to my C300. I wanted the C400 but I'm not sure why I didn't go with it when I bought my first C-class in 2015. I ended up later getting a Q50 for my wife, which basically has the C400 engine in it. Goddamn the power is nice.

Totally different engines. I own a Q50 Red Sport and a C400. The Red Sport has a VR30DETT which is a much different engine. And it spends a lot of time in the shop.

The 2.0t in the Q50 is a Mercedes engine, the 3.0 is not. Ironically, INFINITI plays the exhaust sound from the VQ35 through the speaker system to cover up the sound from the VR30 lol

I had to do some googling when I saw this. Indeed I was wrong! My wife's car has the 3.0t, which I now see is made by Infiniti. The finance and service guys both swore up and down when I bought the car that it was a MB engine. Maybe they thought I was getting the 2.0t that day. So yes, definitely different engines then. I'm still very happy with the performance compared to my C300 and my older G35.

I was a hair away from getting the Red Sport that day. What issues have you had?

They blow their turbos. At least Nissan will warranty them. But Nissan warranty is...unpleasant.

I am not surprised that salesmen either lied, or didn't know, about the engine. They'll tell you its made of cheese if that's what it takes to seal the deal!

I would sooner believe they were ignorant of the specs. I knew the specs, but was unaware it was an Infiniti engine. Shame on me.

I'll keep that in mind about the Red. I'm heavily leaning towards getting myself one as a birthday present in May or June.

Good to know about the Infiniti Turbos. I considered a Red Sport, but honestly the car grew too big from the '08 G35 I had. I don't need nor want all that space in a sedan (and I have a forward-facing baby car seat in the back middle). If anything I'm hoping the next major C-class doesn't balloon it up (but we all know it will) or I will go for a A45 AMG perhaps. And the Infinitis seems to ride high. The C400 is nice and low, reminds me of my '00 Jetta VR6 I had back in the day.

Apologies for hijacking the the thread. Congrats again on your new car!
I'm set to buy a new C-class in 2021 if I don't get the Infiniti. I'm praying they don't ruin it either.

Congrats! Looks very much like mine, and optioned like mine too (no options except rear camera).

Good call on the extended warranty, it’s already save me money on two visits.

Enjoy!
