Retrofit 2019 Ambient Lighting
Has anyone found out if you can retrofit the ambient lighting from the 2019 in other W205's? The interior structure looks the same where the lights are located. I'd imagine the software would just need to be updated.

its not there, the center is easy to add - the doors not so much.. lastly, you have to program the option in.

Be very careful with these aftermarket kits. First, this will void your MB warranty. Second, you run the risk of crashing your Command Center software causing a significant cost at a Mercedes dealer to reinstall.Not sure why anyone would take the chance of downloading a Chinese patch on a German engineered piece of software. Definitely not worth the risk IMO.

Not looking to use aftermarket kits. I want OEM. But I'm wondering if the lights can be retrofitted.

Because "German engineered piece of software" never has bugs or issues?

Yes, the OBD didn't download the software properly. Took it to an MB mechanic and he read me the riot act. Told me if MB found out, they wouldn't honor the warranty.

Can you be more specific? Where did you purchase the OBD and what year car did you use it on?

Yes, I purchased from Amazon, and it is the type of OBD that uses a WeChat link to download the software. I believe that there is also an OBD that is self-contained that does not need a WeChat link. Used it on a 2018 C300 with Audio 20.
